We will hope for pleasant surprises in the commission's findings -- substance, insight and real prescriptions for changes in the way intelligence is gathered, analyzed and distributed -- that will make it very hard for another 9/11 to occur.
What a good laugh line. What great sarcasm. A very subtle wit.

I loved the last paragraph myself. They have about as much confidence as I do in the 9-ll Commision -- which is like zero, zip, nada!

Do you realize what this does??? Not to be morbid or anything, but if something does happen before the election, the president has insulated himself from the political maneuverings of the Democrats, because he has lassoed them into being co-responsible by virtue of their involvement in this commission. They can no longer sit on the sidelines lobbing stink bombs without getting all smelly themselves.

I just realized today that one of the major issues for 9/11, the wall, is now down because of the Patriot Act. However, this provision is about to sunset .. which means the wall will go back up in 2005. Looks like the dems were planning on being back in the WH.
