He came home very upset. He used to go to Belmont all the time, and he never went again after that.I can understand. It is a heartbreak to have a healthy horse go down, no matter what the use is, money or pleasure. I lost my first horse a few days before my 17th. b'day. I'm still not over it.

Well, the poor horse wouldn't pull up, she kept running and running on the bones, with her hoof flopping. He said it was terrible. The instinct, the heart to run was so strong they couldn't stop her.
From what I understand, she is the only horse who is buried entirely at Belmont. Usually they bury only part, I think the right foreleg and something else? Someone correct me if I am wrong.
