Well, the poor horse wouldn't pull up, she kept running and running on the bones, with her hoof flopping. He said it was terrible. The instinct, the heart to run was so strong they couldn't stop her.
From what I understand, she is the only horse who is buried entirely at Belmont. Usually they bury only part, I think the right foreleg and something else? Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I just read that they are traditionally buried " head, heart and hooves ".
