Yes it was. It was the first time I had seen the complete list, and I found someone with the same family name. It is not all that common, so it was quite sobering to see this person's name on the list.

"mmmmm...news reporters make some news..."
LOL. My thoughts exactly. I like Fox News, but why dignify Koppel with a defense? The media has of course given Koppel way too much exposure anyway.
He's so biased. He covered all the anti-war protests in DC and gave very short shrift to the supprot the troops rallies. Everyone in DC knows that. That's why his claim to be doing something patriotic here is silly. He's one-sided. He can only see patriotism in dissent: he can't see it in supporting the troops. This is what people mean when they say the media hates America.

My most fervert hope is that the Bush administration has the goods on the UN,
and a whole lot of Saddam-bribed socialists, throughout the global village.

Re: comments by Senator McCain on the Ted Koppel show.
Did it ever occur to anyone that Senator McCain blames the American People for his being tortured by the North Vietnamese, and has been getting even by torturing us ever since.

Wasn't it Koppel who "proved" that GM pickup trucks were deathtraps by "crash-testing" one in which they had wired explosives into the gas tank? It was his network, anyway.
The producer involved in that particular misdeed was Rick Kaplan, who later brought his agenda to CNN with the Tailwind fabrication.

"Claim that Baghdad has list of oil-for-food cash bribes"Yep. Actually, this isn't the first time I heard it. Reporters from al Jazeera, the BBC and "American stations" were said to have been on the list. It's actually not a seperate one...it's from the original list which was partially published last Jnauary.
Saddam didn't use just oil vouchers: he used cars and houses to bribe reporters to spread his propaganda that US sanctions were killing a gazillion Iraqi children a year, Saddam was really a nice guy who's misunderstood, etc. Naturally, the public bought it over time. When you tell the same lies every day for years, the lies take on the patina of truth. Some reporters told those lies knowingly and for pay. I want to know their names.
Ever since, every time I hear some "objective" talking head spewing absolutely vile BS, I wonder if they were on the list.

Fascinating......and the name "Dan Rather" comes immediately to mind.
FYI, I posted the NZ Herald article as a separate thread.

"I have to ask, did everyone here KNOW who BKO was at the time?"Maybe not everyone, but a lot of Freepers did know that BKO was Barbara Olsen.

Maybe Fox is planning to show the pictures and read the names of the 14,000 Iraqi's estimated to have been killed. That would really out-Koppel Koppel.
