The Mohammedan heretics want to worship in a former mosque? OK, but only if Christians, Catholics and Orthodox, can worship in every former church converted to a mosque. Since the Mohammedan won't accept that, then it is OK for the Christians to tell these heretics to get bent.

I would disagree. Even if every former church were returned to us it would change nothing; once a building has been consecrated its use is the worship of God, and to permit Islamic worship would be a gravely wrong.

I'm not Catholic, but I'd heartily applaud the Pope if he said that "limited time engagements" might be arranged...once the "peaceful" Muslims started handing over Osama bin Laden, etc. to responsible legal authorities (like John Ashcroft).

This is not about the W.o.T. This about using a building which has received consecration to the worship of God. To permit its use as a Mosque in ANY circumstances would be WRONG.

The Muslims won't have to worry about this situation in Kosovo. They are burning down all the historic Christian churches and monestaries, clearing the way for future mosques to be built on those sites. It's all been done before and has been their plan for a thousand years.

As the Pope correctly pointed out, under the Muslim's logic, he would be entitled to assert rights in virtually every significant or historic mosque in these areas.

Once it is clear that the war of self-defense is one of  tous azimuths, that should put an end to America turning-the-other-cheek and sweetness-and-light (which, until now, has been the policy), and that the constraints, for example, on a wide range of policies (including a complete ban on Arab leaders being able to send their children to the West for education, or counting on Western medical care -- they cannot be allowed to cherry-pick what they take from the West, while they make our own lives much more unpleasant, difficult, expensive, and dangerous. And anyone who gives it a week's thought can no doubt come up with many ways to defeat the Jihad, or limit its impact, other than this quixotic project of making Islam something it never has been, and is the most unlikely candidate for ever being.

One still does not know to what degree the folly of the "democracy in Islam" project will continue, but those who were completely behind the smashing of Saddam, and especially of his military power, and then for a quick withdrawal to leave Iraq to whatever the people in it could make of it, have been vindicated. It is through chaos and confusion and collapse, and only thus, that within the Muslim world there will be a slow recognition that Islam itself is the problem, not the solution, that Islam itself is the political, economic, moral, and intellectual failure that, without Western foreign aid or OPEC money, it would be seen to be.

Looks like this was step two of the plan to take over. Since the Vatican didn't cave, they'll have to bomb some more. Did you notice that Italy acquitted some terrorists the other day? This was after they cut the head off that Italian in Iraq. So despite what their premier (prime minister), says about keeping their troops in Iraq, Italian citizens are Euroweenie to the core.

Previously the site had been occupied by a Christian church dedicated to Saint Vincent that had been built by the Visigoths around 500 CE. Before that, when Córdoba was a provincial capital in the Roman Empire, the site was occupied by a temple dedicated to Janus, the double-headed god of doorways and gates.

Before 9-11 and Osama, I only held the politically-correct "The Christian Crusaders
were ALL murderous thugs" mantra preached at virtually all universities.

But, thanks to Osama overplaying the Islamic hand, finally we are living in a
"truth will out" period.
I'm sorry I can't recall the commentator, but I did hear on talk radio (Chuck Colson?)
that when someone asks him about "The Crusades" he replies with "Which one? -- the one
launched by the Muslims in the mid-seventh century that took 30,000 Christian churches
and shrines at the point of the sword?"

Listening to Dennis Prager and Michael Medved on KRLA 870AM in Los Angeles has been a
real education with highlights like:
1. Hearing Dore Gold talk about his book on Wahhabism, "Hatred's Kingdom"...and
learning that the even the Ottoman Turks led a military expedition to the Arabian
peninsula that ALMOST wiped out this radical movement
2. Hearing (with my own ears) Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR admit to Michael Medved that he (Hooper)
did hope that the USA would be under Shari'a law but "it's probably not going to happen".
3. Hearing writer Robert Spenser (sp?) reveal a lot of the truths about Islam that our
"free press" just can't bring themselves to print.

If you get more educated about this dangerous ideology and pass the word to
other well-meaning Americans who want to believe the "religion of peace"
tripe...that's the work of a patriot.

Oh, one of the most telling scenes in post 9-11 for me? PBS (Frontline, I think) had
a special about Muslims in America. A very nice young Muslim lady was busily giving
presentations at schools telling the kids that "Islam is not about terrorism; it's a relgion of peace".
And I think she was sincere and well-intended.
BUT, they showed her talking with her father, a retired physician from Egypt who
is now holed up in a swanky enclave in South Carolina (Hilton Head?).
The lady was asking/telling her father that Muslims aren't terrorists...but the old man
JUST COULDN'T STOP HIMSELF...and starts into a short, but intense tirade about how
oppressed Muslims are and how justified they are to fight back.

As Churchill said of the Huns: they're at your throat or they are at your feet
(after you've been forced to beat them into submission...as the only alternative to letting
them kill you)
