Before 9-11 and Osama, I only held the politically-correct "The Christian Crusaders
were ALL murderous thugs" mantra preached at virtually all universities.
But, thanks to Osama overplaying the Islamic hand, finally we are living in a
"truth will out" period.
I'm sorry I can't recall the commentator, but I did hear on talk radio (Chuck Colson?)
that when someone asks him about "The Crusades" he replies with "Which one? -- the one
launched by the Muslims in the mid-seventh century that took 30,000 Christian churches
and shrines at the point of the sword?"

real education with highlights like:
1. Hearing Dore Gold talk about his book on Wahhabism, "Hatred's Kingdom"...and
learning that the even the Ottoman Turks led a military expedition to the Arabian
peninsula that ALMOST wiped out this radical movement
2. Hearing (with my own ears) Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR admit to Michael Medved that he (Hooper)
did hope that the USA would be under Shari'a law but "it's probably not going to happen".
3. Hearing writer Robert Spenser (sp?) reveal a lot of the truths about Islam that our
"free press" just can't bring themselves to print.
If you get more educated about this dangerous ideology and pass the word to
other well-meaning Americans who want to believe the "religion of peace"
tripe...that's the work of a patriot.
Oh, one of the most telling scenes in post 9-11 for me? PBS (Frontline, I think) had
a special about Muslims in America. A very nice young Muslim lady was busily giving
presentations at schools telling the kids that "Islam is not about terrorism; it's a relgion of peace".
And I think she was sincere and well-intended.
BUT, they showed her talking with her father, a retired physician from Egypt who
is now holed up in a swanky enclave in South Carolina (Hilton Head?).
The lady was asking/telling her father that Muslims aren't terrorists...but the old man
JUST COULDN'T STOP HIMSELF...and starts into a short, but intense tirade about how
oppressed Muslims are and how justified they are to fight back.
As Churchill said of the Huns: they're at your throat or they are at your feet
(after you've been forced to beat them into submission...as the only alternative to letting
them kill you)
