He died leading a charge up a hill to take out an Al Qaeda position... We really lost a special person that day. :-( "Hero" really does fit in this instance.

I wish Kerry had earned his this way.

Most of the Medals of Honor awarded during the Civil War were later dropped from the rolls as undeserved. One whole company received them as a reenlistment inducement. MOH was created at the time of the War Between the States, and was at the time the only USA military decoration. Its current status as the highest and rarest military decoration is a 20th Century development.

Back when I was in.....LOL
An honest-to-gawd old school brown booter?
Probably even go back beyond TW's.
And of course you know what a P-38 is and how many cranks it takes to get the beans and MFers opened, right?

Good idea, but is there any precedent for revoking medals, especially Purple Hearts?
They gave medals out like candy back then, so he'll have to keep his Bronze Star & Silver Star, but his first Purple Heart is awfully suspicious even for the handing-out-medals-like-candy atmosphere back then.
