[history]
Tillman was killed while performing his duty "without regard to his personal safety," the Army said in a statement.
Tillman left behind his NFL career as a safety with the Arizona Cardinals to join the Army after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

By far, a better man than most of us. If he doesn't get into the NFL Hall of Fame for just for doing what he thought was right, there is something wrong. I hope to meet him on the other side

Because of Tillman's leadership and his team's efforts, the trail section under fire "was able to maneuver through the ambush to positions of safety without a single casualty," the Army said.He died so that others may live. THAT is a true hero. Selfless sacrifice.
God bless Pat Tillman.

Everything is in your 201 File. It follow you everywhere. You can't get out without it being complete.
Why isn't the pressure on a Presidential potential nominee to release his 201 file? I don't get it.

Football is not why Pat Tillman is a hero.

I've concluded, given the information sKerry has made available and given his personality, that most of sKerry's medals were undeserved. I'm convinced that he sealawyered his way into them to (1) get himself out of Vietnam as fast as possible, and (2) give him a military record of which a politician could be proud. I appreciate his 4 months of service in a war zone, but I do not think it was honorable if he maneuvered his way out of a full tour of duty. I have no doubt that he'd cut and run if, as president, he ever had to make the choice between himself and the country.

I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that if real pressure is brought to release john (f'n)kerry's 201 file it will be discovered to have been 'destroyed' in that big fire at the records facillity in St. Louis back in the '70's...no matter what actually happened to it.

Something I noticed on your posting on the other site - I sincerely do not mean to be critical, but in retrospect Pat Tillman DID NOT choose to be a hero in any sense of the word - rejecting all media coverage of his move to the Army, rejecting a $3 mil. plus contract, he chose to do as so many others have done before and will surely do after - he chose to serve - his fellow citizens, his fellow soldiers and his country in the most distinguished way anyone could in his position in life - anonymously, in a sense. God give us more Pat Tillmans.

These topics can get real touchy. I have a member of my family that won a Silver Star in WWII that we didn't even know about until after he was dead and were going through his things (he never talked about the war save for one story he had about a dying Waffen SS soldier). My father told me that medal "inflation" during Viet Nam was a problem. In other words- medals were given out like candy during Viet Nam to improve bad morale. Don't attack me- that is what I have heard.
Is this medal a propaganda move? I don't know. I will leave that debate to the people who have served within the last 20 years or currently.

Ted Koppel will not mention Pat Tillman's name tonight. Tillman was killed in Afghanistan, but he did serve in Iraq as well. I guess Tillman and his other comrades who lost their lives in Afghanistan don't qualify to be "honored" by the leftist mainstream media and the antiwar party Dems. United under arms, divided in death. What a farce.

Thank you for checking out my...
...PAT TILLMAN Thread on the
.."WE WERE SOLDIERS" Forum at:
http://www.TheAlamoFILM.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8 PAT TILLMAN was apparently in the Firefight of his life in Afghanistan about the time I was saying a prayer for him in front of his much beloved U.S. Army Ranger School at Ft. Benning on the morning of April 22, 2004.
I had been called to the hollowed ground of Ft. Benning for the Funeral of Mrs. JULIE MOORE, wife of "WE WERE SOLDIERS" Lt. Gen. HAL G. MOORE (Ret).
And what struck me deeply at the time was that a Ft. Benning that trains American Soldiers to fight for the Freedom of Others is a HOLY Place. And the American Soldiers being trained there are HOLY, their Mission abroad is HOLY as are their Loved Ones who wait for them to come home or not in time of war.
I have been blessed to be able to make this point on the Internet and on Talk Radio/TV (Like C-SPAN's 'Washington Journal') ever since =
A Mission for the HOLY Ones.
PAT TILLMAN =
A HOLY Example of Sacrificing for Others (Hero) for the Ages

you are absolutley correct. Frankly, it is time the Navy revoke Kerry's purple hearts. Insofar as Kerry was never wounded, it is wrong that he was given these medals.

After Korean war, medal presentation became like candy, especially in the officer group. I think McCain and Kerry are both good represenatives of that trend.
