I had a big beautiful white tomcat that faced off with a Bobcat in the wilderness in Northern CA. I was walking up the path from the garage and there was Mr. Lee all puffed up and growling at a Bobcat doing an imitation of Mr. Lee.
My Tom chased off the Bobcat which really scared me. I did not expect to see him again. But, working on his 9 lives, he returned that night intact and very proud of himself. He also had a good relationship with a Muledeer Buck and his harem. They slept under my deck (1 Story off the ground)or in the blackberry brambles nearby. The fawns were kept in the blackberry tangle, but my 4 yr old grandaughter was privliged to be an intimate.
I really loved living there, just above the snowline amid tha tall timber, in the Sierra. It was just me, Mr. Lee, Lauren and my Son, David at 18. He died on Memorial Day 7 years ago at 37, of cancer, but he was an alcoholic and a poor tormented talented soul. We couldn't save him from himself. Go figure! I still try.

Was Mr. Lee named after Robert E or Lighthorse Harry?
