"The daughter with the 102F fever raised a flag for me."
Not me. I am too naive. It saddens me, though, because, when my daughter had a raging fever (they think it went to 108 at one point)the Freeper prayer warriors were all over it, and she got better. Not, I might add, because of the emergency room doc, who misdiagnosed her. What if I had not been believed. Thanks again, BTW, to all of you and for the awsome power of prayer.

There were reasons not to believe the story. I certainly wouldn't suggest anyone normally be suspicious of those requesting prayer, however this one raised a few red flags:
- He posted in a panic, during "the emergency". The few times I've been concerned about my children's immediate physical condition, posting on FreeRepublic wasn't even on my list.
- The alleged child wasn't "their" first, yet his "wife" was hysterical and he was in a panic. 102F just isn't that high and I've seen very few parents panic about such a low fever except when it's their first child. Most parents know to give Tylenol/Motrin and monitor the temp to make sure it doesn't rise.
- A "private doctor" came for a house call; "he" arrived 4 minutes after the initial post.
