God fearing citizens made America what it is today. Not sniveling atheists. But today the news is full of militant, ego tripping, atheists trying to destroy any hint of Gd in the public places.
The Old Geezer here, again... McDermotte is the slime bag that started the downfall of our great Newt Gingrich. If you remember, he is the one who orchestrated the telephone call that was intersepted by a "listener" who just happened to have a tape recorder by his side while driving in Florida. The listener turned out to be a liberal activist and his wife. Of course, they were cleared and Newt went under many investigations which later cleared him, but nevertheless he was hounded until his own fellow house members dumped him because he bacame a "lightening rod."
The Left wants to be in charge of fixing things. Ordinary folks, you see, can’t do it and shouldn’t try. That’s why personal responsibility is rejected by the Left. But let’s take it deeper.
Human lives can be governed by three possible forces:
God
Human Free Will
Chance
If God is in charge of all the details, and if God is Good, then this is the best of all possible worlds, and there is nothing for the Left to do. That option (obviously!) must be rejected.
If Human Free Will plays a part, then perhaps the world isn’t perfect, but that is the fault of humans, and if they would just behave in a more responsible manner, then we would all get closer to the best of all possible worlds. There’s not much the Left can work with in this formulation.
If the world is just ruled by Chance and blind mechanistic laws, against which individuals are powerless, then only the awesome insights and power of the Leftist Elite can possibly create a better world for people. It follows then that both God and the notion of personal responsibility must be utterly rejected if the Left wants to get into positions of power.
