In 1973, the Supreme Court turned the clock back 110 years and denigrated the status of the unborn to that of the pre-Civil War slaves; they are simply chattel and not human and therefore it is not a crime to kill them for whatever reason the "owner" decides.

It's not just bears, trees are important too! But abortion is a choice,,,,,,,, to kill,,,,,,,,, the unborn human. As opposed as I am to abortion I often wonder if those who have it done, may be doing the world a favor rather than passing that killer gene on to future generations.

There's more truth in that than many realize. Roe v. Wade had as its foundation the Dred Scott decision of the mid 1800s.

The correlating drop in the crime rate says they are.

Did you see the aerial picture of the Million Baby Killer Rally that had the Capitol Building in the backdrop. So many of the killers were wearing red that the mall looked like a sea of blood. Ironic?

Roe v. Wade had as its foundation the Dred Scott decision of the mid 1800s.True; the foundation of the Dred Scott decision was that black persons were not "citizens" under the Constitution, and therefore had no standing to sue in the federal courts for their freedom.
Similarly, pro-abortionists try to hang their hats on the specious argument that because the unborn have not yet been born, they are not yet "citizens" deserving of the protection of the Constitution.

Well, better abortion than putting them up for adoption, I guess. There's always a chance the kids could fall into the hands of a gay couple. Brrr.

I believe there is a choice to be made. "Don't have sex if you don't want a baby." That goes for the male and the female. Adoption is preferrable to abortion. I used to be pro-choice (saying I didn't want to choose for others even though I was pro-life as far as me and mine went), but I've seen too much devastation.
We all know what causes babies at this point in time.

I used to have the similar standing, but like you, I've changed. I've taken it akin to saying "I wouldn't personally murder someone, but I won't force my views on you, go ahead and choose to murder someone, I won't stand in your way." Doesn't sit well when put that way.

"Well, better abortion than putting them up for adoption, I guess. There's always a chance the kids could fall into the hands of a gay couple. Brrr."So, you'd rather be dead than have gay parents, eh? I wouldn't, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that opinion.
Besides that, at least with domestic adoption, a birthmother can pick what kind of parents she wants her child to have. It's up to her in most cases.

That is very well put. I quit rationalising that it was different than murder because it is not different.

I have to march because my mother could not have an abortion.
--US Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif) at Pro-Abortion Rally Sunday, April 25
Maxine Waters nearly changed my mind on the issue of abortion with this one. I'm really sorry that her poor feet hurt.

Believe it or not, this was not on DU. It was written in response to two letters from women who regretted having abortions.(

The same folks who HATE the bashing of baby seals are the ones who think it's okay to chop up babies in the womb. Last days alert! By the way, I think it's DISGUSTING to kill baby seals but even more DISGUSTING to kill BABY HUMANS!
