Teresa Heinz Kerry won't model herself on either Hillary Clinton or Nancy Reagan if her husband, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry, reaches the White House. Speaking at a Montecito fund-raiser Saturday, Heinz Kerry, 65, said she would "continue to be me."
That "me" is a wealthy philanthropist; a former Republican who only recently switched party affiliations; and a champion of women's issues, the environment, the arts and education.
"I know Mrs. Reagan," said Heinz Kerry. "I admire her for her particular role at that time, married to who she was and at her time. And I've said before if my mother were first lady, she'd probably be someone like Mrs. Reagan: supportive of her husband completely, very feminine, very smart, rather reticent."
She said that Hillary Clinton was "very focused, she knows what she wants and she works hard at it, and she's been a good senator."
Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, promised that if she makes the White House, she would "work hard. I would enable people, have some fun doing it, learn a lot, and help my husband that way and our kids."
The fund-raiser was held at the Montecito estate of Robert and Carole Lieff before about 300 people. Carole Lieff, one of the top 40 Kerry fund-raisers in the nation, said the event brought in approximately $280,000 for Kerry's campaign.
Guests paid $500 and $1,000 apiece to attend.
Heinz Kerry, who is the head of the $1.2 billion Heinz Foundation endowment, said her husband of nine years "has a love of diplomacy. An interest in the world and a curiosity about others. He does not fear complexity. He has a great belief in a sense of fairness and justice in the American people. He respects that. He thinks that's important in our type of democracy."

For the sake of your husband's campaign, couldn't you promise to be somebody normal?
Just lie for a couple of months.

Horse feathers. Tereza is flip flopping just like her husband.
Years earlier, she told a reporter that she thought being first lady would be worse than going to a Carmelite convent. However, she backed her husband when he threw his hat in the ring for the presidency. Taking his name and joining the campaign effort, she nevertheless remained controversial. Found here.

For God's sake, she should do anything but that. I don't even want to think of her being anything, far less being her. Keep praying for the President.

Well, we'll be sure to keep that in mind whenever you're invited, since that's the only way you're likely to be there.

"work hard. I would enable people, have some fun doing it, learn a lot, and help my husband that way and our kids."
What the heck does this mean?
Does she know the meaning of hard work?
She wants to "enable" people. This is not always a good thing. Think AA.
She wants to have fun.
She wants to learn.
She wants to help her husband and kids.
ME, ME, ME... Oh yea, my family too.

Ms. Heinz is charm challenged. She is the perfect wife for a liberal candidate. I'm sure that John Kerry considers her finest asset to be her vast fortune she assumed from husband # one. In the meantime many supporters of President Bush most highly value Ms. Heinz charmless, tactless, and clueless personality.

He does not fear complexity. Perhaps not, but simplicity scares the bleep out of him.

Believe me, the idea of Zsa-Zsa Gabor in the White House gives me recurring nightmares. Is it even conceivable that Americans would do that to themselves?
