Conservative talk radio reminds me of Radio Free Europe against the Soviets TV, movies, music, comedians, magazines and newspapers.
Except that its not government sponsored.

>>American media is primarily liberal. American universities are primarily leftist. American entertainment is primarily leftist.
Tell that to...liberals. A friend of mine who is liberal felt that the "liberal media" was a myth. And a radio consultant (who felt herself more centrist than liberal) I've heard on some talk shows has said, "Liberal media, WHAT liberal media?" several times. When I met her and brought up Bernie Goldberg's "Bias" she said she felt it was all so untrue.

Listen to (or watch--it's on public access cable) the fascinating (NOT!) "Democracy Now" or hear NPR to get liberal media in action.
>>They thought of it because they are losing the arguments on the issues.
Have you heard when someone like Laura Ingraham has a liberal on? She had a guest once from a group called Lawyers Against the War, and started by asking him point blank, "Do you think it's a good thing that Saddam is
out of power/captured?" He refused to answer. She asked him again, politely, and he still refused to answer.
Finally he hung up in disgust (notice the man chose to
appear by phone and not in person; courageous). A few
minutes later Laura's producer tried to get the man back on but he refused, calling her an (expletive).
Liberal thought in action.

Chris Matthews has become truly obnoxious. He was on one of the late nite talk shows last week (the one that comes on after Leno) extolling the virtues of Teresa Heinz Kerry. He slobbers all over the Democrats, it's sickening.
I watch Scarborough at 10 on MSNBC, but immediately switch back to Fox when Chris Matthews comes on.

RR was a truely fantastic guitarist. Someday I hope to listen to him and SRVaughn play. God must be rocking these days.
I can't wait for the Buddy Holly/Sid Vicious/Keith Moon/Joey Ramone jam session!

Yea I can get it on Sirius.
I have listened a bit, besides Randi, most of their shows sound like NPR.
I actually welcome all sides, but it has to interesting. They used to have a nut on Sirius, Mike Melloy, he was so crazy far-left that it was funny, Kinda like Dennis Kucinich on steroids and Jack Daniels.

I listened for fifteen minutes and that's all I could handle. I'm still trying to figure out where and when they're on in Southern California. I could use a good laugh every now and then.

Anyone seen the Yahoo ad where Ben Stein's saying all the goofy things dems use it for, and then franken goes on about how Reps just look at it to look up yachts.. Oh, and trophy wives. That's actually Franken's most amusing performance to date. I'd pay real money to see Ben Stein and Franken in a real no-holds-barred debate. Ben would probably avoid such a confrontation though, not wishing to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

They're desperate enough to charge for a premium service? And what's with the "archives" business? They've only been on the air what? Three weeks?
This beats the Keystone Kops for pure slapstick.

Kinda like Dennis Kucinich DK missed his calling as a straight man. I heard him impromptu on Howie Carr during the NH primary. He was
actually funny, since Howie was tossing softballs, leaving big openings, prompting and encouraging each Dem that wanted
to come on that Tuesday to make a final plea for votes in the last couple of hours.

They feel the liberal viewpoint is not being heard -- except on TV, in the movies, in music, by comedians, magazines and newspapers. Other than that, it's not getting out!" Did he really say that? Wow, I guess he is one of us.

Being a talk radio host(ess) is really not that easy. I think it's much more difficult than being a TV news anchor. TV news anchors essentially read from a telepromter. Have a nice voice and good intonation and delivery, and it doesn't matter what the hell you know.
The talking heads on Sunday have to know a little more, as they're interacting, and commenting on the news.
But a talk radio host has to fill in usually several hours of talk. No ability to go to video, and you've got to keep people's attention. You have to read up on a lot of different subjects, be up with the news, etc. Even sports radio guys have to know all about what's going on that day.
Franken and Garafolo haven't been talk radio people very long yet. Another problem that the leftists have is the fear of offending anyone. Once I read that some leftist radio station was having a bunch of gay cowboys on. They talked about how gays were becoming cowboys, and that they had made it in tht macho culture. The radio station was then besieged with calls from angry vegeterians saying cowboys were cruel to animals. When they finally get gays in the military, they'll lambast gays who join because tehy're fighting an illegal war or some damned thing.

I'd hate to give any liberal credit...but Jim Hightower has a credible media presence about him.
You may not agree with him on...oh, about 99% of what he says but he's capable of handling on a position on Err America.
To: stainlessbanner
Contrast that to Rush Limbaughs guest hosts, who are 67 percent white . . . So Walter Williams is the guest host a third of the time? :-)
