Go dad is right!

The mother isn't doing her son any favors, in this instance.

Goldberg and his brother have hearts of gold too...I saw a Maury Povich that made me cry. They're no posers. I like guys who don't advertize their charity (Effing Kerry are you listening!).

When my brother was about sixteen, my mother was going to discipline him with the broom. He said to her, "No, Ma! I'm too old for that now." And he took the broom away from her.

She promptly removed her shoe and chased him around the house. He did receive a whipping, in the end.

LOL

Sorry - but any time you leave bruises - that's abuse.

That's not a good standard. Some people bruise more easily than others.

I don't think its erroneous to assume such at all, having experience in just such a result from a lack of "hard" discipline.
Good points about the bully, etc. But that is not an assumption that can be made from the article either.
However, in this compressed news saga, such answers are not forthcoming and we do not know what sort of conversation went on before the father went back down to get the dangerous beef jerky. We just know that he left and came back.
Beef jerky...not a belt, not a wooden spoon or even his shoe, not his hands or fists. I'm not sensing malice and intent to harm here. Certainly nothing warranting arrest.
All assumptions, to be sure. But I'm going with Dad on this one, primarily for having been there with my kids.

LOL... my home office is in the den with the TV :) BTW, that episode made cry waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! It was so sad... but too many 'paternity test' shows and that's annoying.

It may be getting bad because I have a strange attraction to Bill O'Reilly.

That's okay. I almost fell in love with him myself last night, when he called Jim McDermott a pinhead.

It's the first time a teen has been bopped by a bologna... usually it's the otherway around.

Maury usually only has three types of shows--

"You My Baby Daddy!"
"Who My Baby Daddy?"
"My Baby Outta Control!"
