post-NewsMedia Conservative History ping - Like A Deer In The Headlights: Hugh Hewitt Spotlights Matthews Fluffing Kerry

Hey, Chris - you might want to have the Senator put some Viagra ice on that! ;-)

On, Off, or grab it for a Media Shenanigans/Schadenfreude/PNMCH ping:

There is no way the Kerry camp would make this concession at this point unless they know WMD HAVE BEEN FOUND, not only found, but found in quantities with proof of origin, such that the media cannot continue to obscure the fact.

Interesting twist...especially since we here on FR have noticed the eerie silence of the "Where are the WMD" drumbeat lately. Something's up.

"...and--we may yet find them"

It's called a "loophole" or a "way out". If they are found in the next 4 years (possibly his administration) he can claim he didn't rule them out.

He certainly spoke forcefully back in 1997 that Saddam Hussein was violating the UN resolutions, that France and Russia were slow to come on board because of business deals they had with Iraq, and that the US did not need UN approval to do what was best for the US (or the world's) safety.

There are others on the left who can carry the water that there are no WMDs. That was what Howard Dean's role was, the alledge the looney left's positions and damage George W. Bush (a high profile whisper campaign). John Kerry won't have to answer for what another candidate or campaign staffer alledges about this administration.

At one point, Kerry had even asked that the George W. Bush AWOL issue be dropped altogether. He has shifted that position (probably at the urging of his handlers) because he now uses that as his defense of throwing his military awards away.

Thanks for the ping. I agree about the WMD's and the suspicious silence. I also think Fallujah has not been wiped off the planet yet, because there might be a cache that would prove a danger to the troops.

Also, Kerry is in yet another box on this issue - why did he believe Clinton when he said Saddam had WMD's and not President Bush?

The RNC ads on this flip flop would be wonderful! Kerry's own Senate record words saying Hussein had WMD's and his vote on regime change. In essence, Kerry talked about it, but Bush did it!

Kerry on the discovery the Earth is round:

"It may very well not be flat as they say, but it has a slight bulge at the equator and has many lumps, so it is not exactly round... Lies! All Lies!

...And it certain does not orbit the Sun - more lies!"

2) The appalling sentence structure. His campaign manager must have been squirming like crazy as it went on...and on...and on.

And folks like Jay Severin continually make fun of President Bush for his use of the English Language. Feh!

He may not be a silver tongued devil, but we had 8 years of that, and we don't want that anymore! Regular folks hear the President and understand him completely, mis-speaks, notwithstanding.
