I'm quite happy to have lived long enough that when I think of the old term

"The US and the British had planes in the air. We were not there. Why is all this being dumped on the UN?" Of course. The American and British jets weren't bombing SAM sites. They were administering the oil for food program. The electronic suites in those jets are just amazing these days.
How could I have been so blind? And to think, I had uncharitable thoughts about Mr. Annan before he clarified things.
