In the future please refrain from using acronyms. NEP?You DON'T know about the NEP??? Amazing ignorance on your part. The New Economic Program of Lenin is standard Marxist technique for attacking capitalism by the sucker play of having 'changed' and then inviting the capitalists to 'invest' in the newly capitalist paradise. Then after the game runs the string out...the charade is ended. The general consensus by true china-watchers and scholars is that we are infact seeing an NEP operation on a far grander scale than Lenin envisaged.

"You DON'T know about the NEP???"
Ignorance on my part? No, Apparently you didnt read my entire post very clearly.
I asked him not to refer to acronyms. If he has simply said, the New Economic Program of Lenin, then I would have known exactly what he was talking about, but I try to refrain from making assumptions. Ive been fooled by that before.

One thing of major note, is that Lenin's NEP was done only a scant few months after the dust had settled from the Russian Civil War. Whereas, this NEP is done against the context of a Communist nation state, placed upon the foundation of a multi millennial kingdom, which has developed even beyond what the USSR had done 50 years after their founding. Sort of like, the USSR, minus the vodka inflated livers, after the successful implemetation of Perestroika [successful from the Communist perpective of course, horrible from our perspective....], with the world beating a path to its door. Retrospectively, I am trying to imagine what would have happened if we had undertaken something like Nixon's PRC "diplomacy" [really nothing more than appeasement and unilateral declaration of non aggression] toward Brezhnev, and launched ourselves into an orgy of trade and outsourcing with the USSR in, say, 1975 or so. Firstly, what would it have done for their economy and national comprehensive strength, and how quickly would our geopolitical stance toward them have been distorted and made flacid? The current case with the PRC is no different. We are the ones who have talked ourselves into believing the shiboleth that they have been made "capitalist" and that they no longer seek our demise. Yes boys, keep them fully loaded container ships flowing eastward across the North Pacific, the dollars and debt paper flowing into the arms of the enemy, and, the enemy's forces a' bulding. Just keep your heads in the sand, and practice your very best dumbfounded dips$#& facial expressions for the day when the world as we know it turns completely upside down, and the very existance of Western Civilization goes from the current slight challenge, to a full on, do or die, hail Mary pass.
