Today: President Bush received Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson in the Oval Office to discuss regional diplomatic and security issues.
He told the press U.S. military commanders will take whatever actions are necessary to secure the besieged Iraqi city of Falluja.
After his recent strong statements supporting Israel, Mr. Bush is considering giving written assurances to Jordan's King Abdullah that the issue of Jewish settlements and Palestinian refugees will be decided in negotiations.
Tuesday: Mr. Bush spoke about improving the nation's health care system and saving lives through support of health information technology while visiting a Veteran Affairs Center in Baltimore, April 27.
Heads up: Tomorrow President Bush and Vice President Cheney will answer questions from the 9/11 panel behind closed doors, with no record or transcript by an official stenographer. Testimony will not be under oath.

Ms.B, I remember when you posted that your old hearing aides were on the fritz. Seems like quite a while ago. Does it take a long time for them to be custom-fitted and made? Glad you have the new ones.

I'm so very, very glad for you, that this has made such a difference in your life is wonderful.
Our president looked relatively happy and relaxed today. Which always relaxes me.

Good evening Wolfstar!

yes, it WAS quite awhile ago that they fizzled out..
It took about 3 weeks for the new ones to be customized to my hearing and fitted...
I'm so happy to have them..

Oh, I wish I wasn't allergic to cats. I love them and especially their purring...My sister's husband had a cat allergy but went through a series of shots some years ago that cured the allergy. They've had multiple cats in their home for years now, and they really are his little babies. :-)
We have three here who have gotten pretty good at bossing us around but we don't mind in the least 'cause they are sweeties otherwise.

My father was very hard of hearing; probably deaf in his right ear, and I'm not sure how much he could hear with his left. But he died in 1971, long before today's terrific advances for the hearing impaired. He hated the hearing aides they had then, probably because there was no way to calibrate the aides to a person's individual needs. He wound up not using his much, and so he missed out on a lot. So, even though I have sound hearing, I'm really glad for the advances that benefit good folks such as you.

I sympathize with what your Dad went through...
Hearing aides used to be awful!!
Today, they plugged my hearing aides into a computer while I had them on...and the place that made them helped my audiologist calibrate them that way...
I kinda felt like the Bionic Woman!
Thanks again, for your kind words...

Good article about Iraq.
I smiled at this part -
In Dohuk, a woman in uniform and carrying
a weapon is not an everyday sight.
Spc. Melissa Zadakis, 19, of Mexico, Maine,
attracted a lot of attention from men wherever
she went in the city Sunday. One Kurdish woman
offered 2,000 Iraqi dinars (about $1.50) to have
her picture taken with Zadakis, and a young man
proposed on the spot. "It's crazy," Zadakis said.

Hi Ms.Bee,
Tell me all about those
hearing aids. What kind, how
much, (you can tell me),
did insurance help at all w/the
purchase? How is the back-
ground noise?
I need some, but they are soooo expensive....................................
