Islamic activists: Terminate Severin
By Dean Johnson
Wednesday, April 28, 2004
WTKK-FM (96.9) afternoon personality Jay Severin
is still on the hotseat for alleged anti-Muslim remarks
made last week despite a Monday explanation he was
misquoted and taken out of context.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations called
on WTKK-FM to fire Jay Severin yesterday, citing
transcripts showing he called for killing American
Muslims during a show last week.
Severin has said his comments during his show on
96.9 FM Thursday were aimed at religious
fanatics killing Americans.
But CAIR executive director Nihad Awad was not
impressed after reviewing transcripts provided by
press sources. WTKK would not provide CAIR with
a tape.
``The actual transcript is even worse than what
had initially been reported,'' he said. ``Based on Mr.
Severin's claim that Muslim citizens are a `fifth
column' in this country and his apparent belief that
they should be killed, we renew our call for his
termination.''
He also plans to ask for a Federal Communications
Commission probe of Severin's remarks.
WTKK management repeated its support for Severin
yesterday,saying it accepts his explanation,
supports his right to express his opinion and will not take
action against him.

I know that WTKK says they are going to take no action
But we all know how fast that can change.

CAIR and AMC are fronts for Islamonazis in the U.S. They have in their gunsights any one critical of Islamic fascism. They want Jay Severin canned for exposing them as the totalitarian thugs they are.

Here's a story about what Jay actually said:
Radio talk show host Jay Severin said in an interview last night that perhaps he should have acknowledged that he wasn't talking about all Muslims in the United States last week when he said to a caller, "You think we should befriend them; I think we should kill them."
Severin, who on his show yesterday afternoon vehemently defended the comment, said that anyone who listened to his show for "any length of time longer than 10 minutes has heard me say that Muslims are not our enemies, that all Muslims are not terrorists."
"But, thus far, all the terrorists killing us are Muslims, and that distinction is one I have made every single time, including last Thursday, and every single time that we have discussed the topic of Islam and the war on terror, as those of you who listen, at least most of us who listen know," he said on yesterday's show.
In a telephone interview later, he said: "I have so many times offered the disclaimer that I didn't feel it necessary to utter the words, `You know, the ones who are killing us.' I appreciate that under the surgical circumstances here that I wish I kind of had." But he added, "I can't assume that everyone party to the conversation joined it five seconds ago."
"I guess," he said, "that I didn't sufficiently hit the refresh button."
The Globe reported on Sunday that the Council on American-Islamic Relations received a complaint in which a listener told the organization that Severin had said, "I've got an idea, let's kill all Muslims."
Severin's employer, WTKK-FM, declined to offer a tape or transcript of last Thursday's show, but the Globe obtained a copy from a radio monitoring service yesterday. Severin's comment, "You think we should befriend them; I think we should kill them," came at the end of a conversation with a caller named Chris from Rhode Island who suggested that the United States befriend Muslims in this country "to help us root out their leaders who aren't really Muslims."
As part of his response, Severin said, "I believe that Muslims in this country are a fifth column. . . . The vast majority of Muslims in this country are very obviously loyal, not to the United States, but to their religion. And I'm worried that when the time comes for them to stand up and be counted, the reason they are here is to take over our culture and eventually take over our country."
He said: "My suspicion is that the majority of Muslims in the United States, who regard themselves as Muslims first and not as Americans really at all, see an American map one day where this is the United States of Islam, not the United States of America. I think it pays to harbor those suspicions."
Toward the end of the conversation, Severin asked, "Do you think we should befriend them?"
The caller said, "Well, I see Muslims in this country, they seem to like freedom."
"Would you answer my question?" Severin said. "Do you think we should befriend them?"
"I think we should . . ." the caller said before being interrupted.
"I'm going to try one more time," Severin said. "The host takes pains to phrase questions sometimes and in a fashion such, the appropriate reply is a yes or a no. This is a three-strike state; you're about to get your third strike. Do you believe we should befriend them?"
"Yes," the caller said.
"I've got good news for you: We have," Severin replied. "Thanks for the call and that's what I'm worried about."
Then, introducing another caller, Severin said: "I have an alternative viewpoint. It's slightly different than yours. You think we should befriend them; I think we should kill them."
Speaking on yesterday afternoon's show about that specific comment, Severin said: "To anyone who may have been offended by misunderstanding or misconstruing my remarks, I want you to know that I regret that. This is never my intention."
Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington advocacy group, said Severin's explanation of the "kill them" comment "is a common dodge."
"Whenever someone attacks Muslims or Islam or gets called on it, they say they didn't mean the moderate or peaceful ones, that they only meant to harm those militant radical Muslims, when what they are really saying is that they meant all Muslims," Hooper said.

I let Jay know he has my full support and should hang in there. True patriots have nothing to fear from scrutiny of their conduct; they should be the first to welcome and seek out affirmation of their loyalty. Those who fear the light and want to shield their treasonous or dangerous activities against America would not want to be exposed. The latter I suspect, is the real reason CAIR wants Jay to be canned. To acknowledge there are Muslims operating as fifth columnists in this country gets one in hot water and unfortunately inattention to the presence of enemy sleeper agents here brought us 9/11. I don't really have to go further to show why the civil rights claim is bogus. No one seeks to persecute Muslims who are committed to defending this country along with the rest of their fellow citizens. But they are exactly the Muslims CAIR and their ilk are NOT defending.

I listen to Jay every evening. While tough on Bush, he says what needs to be said - and damn hurting anyone's "feelings". He has been very hard on the Muslim community for their lack of denouncing terrorism.
I doubt this will give Jay any serious problems. He has the largest talk audience in New England. His station owners would be hard pressed to replace him with someone as popular as he is.

Islamists are indeed a 5th column in this country (who should be executed immediately), and CAIR is a front for that 5th column. Severin is absolutely right.

Same old crap from CAIR as we get from the politically correct crowd.
Give them 40 acres and a camel to go back the desert.
Americans they will never be, our culture they don't want, only our money and opportunity,

Yep. There's this kind of bizarro mentality among the American Left and its Islamofascist fellow travellers. In their universe America is evil and doesn't deserve to have this number one place on the planet. It must at the least be humbled and if necessary destroyed. You've got twisted folks in this country who do think like that - just look at those Indymedia comments about Pat Tillman. I can't relate to that stuff and its beyond me why any one would want to identify in a time of war with America's enemies.

I couldn't agree more with these statements.

Even if 96.9FM does dump him (doubtful), the competition (in talk radio) will quickly move to pick him up. WRKO must be having fits whenever the ratings come out and they see that Howie Carr and his "400 large" is still number 2.
Nothing against Howie, I love his show too. But Jay's show is more on the cutting edge.

Living here in one of the western suburbs of Boston,I am surrounded by the America-hating crowd.
PBS had a show about the The Weathermen and The Weather Underground last night, which I caught a bit of,and it brought back memories of all the seventies,America hating scum.
I have a daughter who received an Ameican flag decal in the mail and she knew I wanted one for my car so she gave it to me.I told her she should keep it for herself but she declined. She didn't want to put an American flag on her car. This is my own daughter!!!!

I have been listening to Jay since day 1 of his Boston program. Anyone who knows Jay's history and efforts at all cannot deny that he is brilliant, and extraordinarily eloquent.
Jay has at times annoyed me with his pandering to the likes of such aholes as John Kerry, and his sometimes contradictory statements. Jay never admits a mistake on air, but that is ok with me. The sucking up to Kerry has been something that confuses me about Jay, but I can live with it. It is actually not so bad now that he has made evident his desire to see Kerry lose in November. Still, building him up as he has was not cool. Kerry is a pompous ass, and Jay should have always focused on that obvious truth.
As to Muslims as a fifth column in America: Well Duhhh! Anyone who would deny that is either too stupid to be taken seriously, or is a subversive themself. As Jay has pointed out many times on air, where are the Muslims who are critical of the attacks of 9-11?
The silence by Muslim-American activists in our society is profound. More and more the vast majority of muslims have made it very clear by their refusal to condemn the Islamo-Fascists that they are part of the problem.
If the muslims do not like to be criticized, then they should present evidence as to why distrust and hostility is unwarranted. They don't, and that is likely because they cannot.
It is not as if muslims are unwilling to lie about their positions. Good grief, the so trustworthy muslims have a problem with Jay wanting them dead. I am shocked. Perhaps some muslims might want to indicate to the rest of us here just why we all should not wish it so. Instead we get the likes of a 3rd rate columnist such as Dean Johnson. Dean Johnson is a pathetic hack, who has intentionally left Jay unmentioned in columns when he has written about popular Boston radio programs.
By the way, when did the Herald become the Globe on matters such as this? People in this country need to wake up when it comes to the very real threat that muslims present in this country.
I hate it when I rant, I get too caught up....

Jay has supported FR in the past and I suspect that he will in the future, if called upon. Muslims are a fifth column, they refuse to intigrate, and they refuse to support the FRee interchange of ideas if it reflects badly on them.
After all it wasn't a group of Unitarian Universalists who murdered 3,000 people in NYC and DC.

Actions speak louder than words:
Immediately after Pearl Harbor, Americans of Japanese descent flocked to the recruiting offices in droves to defend their country; and were turned away at first. But they persisted and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the 100th Battalion were formed by the US Army entirely from the ranks of American of Japanese descent. These two units served in the European theater and were the two most highly decorated units in the war. They had the highest casualty rates and the most individually decorated soldiers. These Americans proved their loyalty beyond the slightest shadow af a doubt.
OTOH, the 1st Muslim Infantry..........................
