Recitation of the Pledge is listed in the official House rules as the third action in the daily order of business.

So goes the DEMTHINK that rules don't apply to them!

Whenever I repeat the Pledge of Allegiance I make sure to speak VERY loudly on the words "under God". So I will continue to endeavor to make up for this Dim congresscritter.

Baghdad Jim is an embarrassment to the state of WA too. How I wish he would be defeated in his next re-election bid. What a wonderful present to the state of WA!

He didn't put his hand over his heart, either -- what a despicable man.

Every time I've heard the pledge recited, a significant number of people leave out "under God". I'm one of them. Ironically, the unity of the recitation breaks down with the word "indivisible".

The thing is, either its meaningless (and his perogative to leave it out), or it has meaning. If it has meaning, it can only mean the Nation is subordinate to a Deity. That's contrary to the Establishment clause.

*THIS* is something for which Congressional Republicans get angry and motivated?

What about JUDGES? What about TAXES? What about SPENDING? Oh, no... McDermott didn't say "under God." What an OUTRAGE!
