Specter Wins 51-49 Republican Senatorial Primary: live thread
4/27/2004 | self

Posted on 04/27/2004 9:10:16 AM PDT by rudy45

My apologies if a thread already exists. I did a search on "Toomey" and found nothing.

I arrived at my polling area (suburban Philadelphia) at 6:45 am to hand out palm cards. The weather is terrific this morning, but turnout (I thought) was light (I had to leave at 9:15, but will be back).

Actually, I have a good feeling about Pat.

I'd be willing to accept his concession.

The PA Sec. of State has nothing.

It's the Pa. Sec. of State. What do you expect?

Just think how misguided the namers of Philadelphia as the City of Brotherly Love were. San Francisco may have come a century later, but they overwhelmingly earned that moniker.

Said his manager told him to make comments. Thanks staff, to smattering of applause and one hoot.

Just how bad do things look to him?

self-professed founder of the Philadelphia's Earth Day and a one-time mayoral candidate, activist Ira Einhorn had a sterling reputation in the City of Brotherly Love - until the spring of 1979, when police found the withered corpse of his ex-girlfriend, Holly Maddux, decomposing in a steamer trunk in the radical's closet.
Courttv.com's

Specter defended Einhorn. Specter got him off on bail and Einhorn left for years - not to be caught until 2002.

Precinct reporting is a random thing. The conventional wisdom is that urban and suburban areas with automated voting report sooner that rural areas with older equipment or paper ballots. This is not always true though as many times problems with machines or goofy poll workers (or fraud but we have to whisper that) cause urban precincts to report later.
