In remarks being reported throughout the Arab world Tuesday morning, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton blasted the Bush administration as a threat to peace in the Middle East, going so far as to accuse the President Bush of endangering the lives of U.S. troops.
Sen. Clinton delivered the unprecedented attack in an interview with the London-based Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat on Monday, with newspapers from Tehran to Islamabad picking up her harsh words almost immediately.
Typical was the coverage by Tehran's news agency Mehr, which quoted Clinton as saying that "the U.S. is trapped in the quagmire of Iraq."
"Referring to the Bush Administration policies as arrogant and insolent," Mehr said, "the wife of the former U.S. president further added that Bush is not willing to admit his mistakes in Iraq, the grave mistakes that have endangered the lives of both the Iraqi people and the U.S. servicemen alike."
The former first lady said that Bush's "mistakes have also threatened peace and stability in the region."
In comments that could only encourage the Iraqi insurgency, the top Democrat complained that "the United States was in trouble because it could not abandon Iraq, nor provide enough manpower to run the country, nor gather world allies willing to provide the necessary assistance for the gigantic task," according to Mehr's translation.

She's a conniving socialist who would love nothing more than to topple our present form of government. I have no problem in calling her Traitor #1. Treason is possibly applicable to her as well. "Treason is as treason does."

I am not surprised. What would surprise me is if the media and the public in general took her to task.

Bush Policies Endangering Mideast Stability: Hilary Clinton
BEIRUT (AFP) -- Former US first lady Hillary Clinton said the "stubborn" policies of President George W. Bush's administration were endangering stability in the Middle East, a daily reported Monday.
The New York Democrat senator told the London-based Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat that the Bush administration had not been "frank" with the American people concerning the human and financial costs in Iraq.
Clinton said the Bush administration did not have a plan for Iraq and did not have a full understanding of the situation there.
She said the United States was in trouble because it could not abandon Iraq, nor provide enough manpower to run the country, nor gather world allies willing to provide the necessary assistance for the gigantic task.
She described the Bush administration as "stubborn and arrogant" for refusing to admit its mistakes which were endangering US soldiers, Iraqis and stability in the Middle East.
Clinton said the June 30 deadline for handing over sovereignty to the Iraqis was a "last chance" not to be missed.

going so far as to accuse the President Bush of endangering the lives of U.S. troops Imagine a politician in Nazi Germany during WWII saying the US was in a quagmire and endangering lives of American soldiers.
Never happened...was unheard of.
She's employing leftist Vietnam-era tactics.
I hope Brit Hume has this on his show tonite.

"Referring to the Bush Administration policies as arrogant and insolent," Mehr said, "the wife of the former U.S. president further added that Bush is not willing to admit his mistakes in Iraq, the grave mistakes that have endangered the lives of both the Iraqi people and the U.S. servicemen alike." Arrogant and insolent. I see Hitlery is projecting again. I wish we still had laws against high treason :-(
