Woman Accused Of Hitting SUV 12 Times On Highway Wright Pleads Not Guilty To Charges

POSTED: 4:29 p.m. EDT April 26, 2004 UPDATED: 5:47 p.m. EDT April 26, 2004

BOSTON -- A Sandwich, Mass., woman faced charges in a courtroom Monday stemming from an alleged case of road rage.

NewsCenter 5's Jorge Quiroga reported that police say Jennifer Wright, a 28-year-old University of Massachusetts at Boston art student, slammed her red station wagon into a sport utility vehicle 12 times on Interstate 93 north in Milton Friday.

"There was an off-duty Brockton police officer who witnessed the other operator cut her off and then apparently the incident revolved around that," said defense attorney Robert Brown.

Witnesses claimed Wright chased the SUV, screamed and waved her arms at the driver and hit the vehicle 12 times.

Wright plead not guilty to assault with a deadly weapon, malicious destruction and driving to endanger.

While the court did not place any restrictions on her driving, she was ordered to see a court psychologist.

"(The psychologist will) assess whether or not there are any psychiatric issues, anger management issues and if there are then the court clinical psychologist will then make recommendations," said Brown.

Wright was released on pre-trail probation and must submit to an anger management evaluation before returning to court on June 9.

"You take your life in your hands when you drive around Boston or anywhere inside 495."

I learned to drive in Boston as a 16 y.o.

It's not so bad, compared to Naples, Calcutta or Mexico City really.

That's Boston for you. She doesn't even admit to a violent felony that a cop witnessed and the judge lets her off with "counseling." Next time, she'll kill people and the judge will still let her off -- just like that Boston judge did when the Brit nanny bashed in the head of a helpless toddler. Then there's Boston's judge Lopez, the best friend a homo child molester ever had. Boston is definitely being run by the "inmates."

We used to go to Sears store in a city with a common border to Boston. The best way to get there was to enter the parking lot from the residential streets behind the store.

In order to do this one had to go down a one way street the wrong way for a half a block. Everytime I wnet this way, there was a line of cars waiting for the one way street to be clear of traffic so one car at a time could dart down to the store lot entrance (maybe it was just an exit - can't remember).

I also lived on a one way street in Boston proper. Everytime I crossed (in the middle of the block, of course), I had to look both ways to avoid being hit by the occasional wrong way vehicle.

The place was a zoo 30 yrs. ago.

In another lifetime I was sitting at a stoplight in Boston. I was driving an E350 ford van with dual wheels that had a step bumper reinforced with a 6" channel center section and 1/4" plate as a bottom panel on the front. A cabdriver in the right hand lane decided to turn left in front of me at the light.

It was the guy's lucky day. The truck was no slouch off the light. If I had been in a hurry I'd have sardined him in that cab when I t-boned him.

I'm glad we are going to war and sacrificing our soldiers so people can have cheap gas to drive around in heavy vehicles.

"the court did not place any restrictions on her driving"

That court is full of fools or liberals, but that is redundency.

Hell, what's the difference except for a fool can make the right choice every once in a while purely out of chance?

Parking a VW by ear, eh. Did he actually move the vehicles at either end of the parking space when he hit them or did he simply shorten his VW?

Did the SUV have a camo paint job? "Old lady runs into a camo'ed truck. Police officer asks "Didn't you see the truck?" Old lady responds "I thought I wasn't supposed to!"

"...seeing as how this was an ARRAIGNMENT..."

Seeing as how she obviously committed the crime, lied about it and showed no remorse, the judge should have let it proceed to trial, rather than doing what he did. Clear now?
