Would you look at the picture of the moon on the jihadi image and see if you think they are similar? (The picture where OBL is smiling and fades out as the moon brightens up)

I am not even sure what planet or moon is represented in this picture, but the terminator (line between light and dark areas) is straight and near the center which is what you would see due to normal illumination. The shadow that is cast during a partial or total lunar eclipse shows a constanst and higher curvature and can fall nearly anywhere across the surface during the eclipse. See the link in #1311. Hopefully I am making some sense here, but I don't believe the image in the center of Daleel's picture is that of a lunar eclipse. Here is a copy of the only full-size copy that I ever encountered.
