Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

I was planning on going to NYC in the next few days.

Hopefully we can track down the source of this and determine whether or not it is a hoax, and what information it is based upon.

David Booth has just today come out and formally announced that earth will be struck by an asteroid preceding Planet X on May 14th. Then, according to his daughter Rachel, he was almost immediately afterward arrested.

Jim McCanney has predicted "electrical discharges" between "comets" and some other body (the earth? the sun?) for April 29, May 6, May 11, and May 15. IIRC, SOHO has been down since before that first date, so no one has been able to watch the comets very well to know if these are occuring or not. Please correct here if I'm wrong about that....

I seem to remember the date of May 20 as being significant for some reason, but can't remember why....

And now we have the "Snowball" transmission, pinpointing June 19-20.

Of course, as DS has delineated, it could be, NOT one singular event, but a series of steadily escalating events as we experience either a hit, near-miss, or close encounter with some significant space body.

NAJAF, Iraq (AP) - British soldiers beat back attacks by militiamen loyal to a radical Shiite cleric in southern cities Saturday, and U.S. forces stormed Muqtada al-Sadr's stronghold in Baghdad.
Al-Sadr's militia launched attacks in Basra and Amarah in an apparent attempt to open up new fronts after another cleric called for a jihad, or holy war, against British troops and promised rewards for the capture of coalition soldiers.

Sheik Abdul-Sattar al-Bahadli, al-Sadr's main representative in Basra, 340 miles southeast of Baghdad, fired up worshippers during Friday prayers with denunciations of U.S. abuse of prisoners and alleged rapes of Iraqi women.

Coalition forces responded to the violence with moves against officials in al-Sadr's movement, arresting his main representative in the southern city of Nasiriyah, Sheik Moayad al-Asadi.

U.S. troops backed by armored vehicles and helicopters also stormed al-Sadr's office in Baghdad's Shiite district of Sadr City, a militia stronghold, and detained three people, witnesses said.

The new U.S. commander of Abu Ghraib - the prison near Baghdad at the center of the abuse scandal - blamed the mistreatment of detainees on the previous leadership and vowed "on my honor" that it would not happen again.

"The alleged abuses .... appear to be due to leaders and soldiers not following the authorized policy and lack of leadership and supervision," Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller told journalists in Baghdad. "We will ensure that we follow our procedures. ... It is a matter of honor."

A U.S. military convoy was attacked on the main highway Saturday near Abu Ghraib, destroying an SUV that burst into flames. After the attack, children cheered around the burning car, shouting "Long live al-Sadr," until U.S. troops opened fire nearby. (snip)

Asteroid Discoveries May Outpace Ability to Assess Threat to Earth

After hunting asteroids for two centuries, astronomers achieved a minor milestone earlier this month when the tally of known space rocks whose orbits are well established surpassed 30,000, three times the total less than 3 years ago.

There was no press release. The people who do the counting are too busy for ballyhoo.

And soon they will be busier. The tally is expected to double......(snip)

City-Sized Asteroid to Pass Earth This Fall

A minor rumor has hatched on the Internet that a large and deadly asteroid will strike Earth this fall. Bulletin board discussions cite a 63 percent chance of impact, while concerned readers have e-mailed SPACE.com wondering if it is true.

Astronomers know of no such impending doom.

The rumors are likely rooted in a real event, however. On Sept. 29, 2004 an asteroid the size of a small city will make the closest known pass of such a very large space rock anytime this century.(snip)

Maybe they're finding more asteroids because of advanced technology, better telescopes. The asteroids have always been there; they can just see them now.

As late as the late 1800's the majority of people didn't believe in giraffes because hardly anyone had seen one.

This "doomsday" event was supposed to have happened May of last year. Evidently in order for David to make it fit into his new book, he changed the date to May 2004. The plagiarism is documented on Rense.

I wouldn't worry about asteroids and such. Give it to God.
The reason for the increased asteroid count is better equipment, according to the NASA site.

Now the Chicago thing.....hmmmmm

I have to keep searching to try to debunk that one.
