And now there's reports of 5 different brush fires off of 10 near San Bernadino. It's not as warm or breezy (at least down nearer San Diego) as it had been earlier this week so I'm less inclined to think it's something more connected to it being dry and easier to get started...

But anyway, smoke is bad enough to have the traffic stopped from it...CHP trying to see if they can escort people through, but also had a request to close the freeway...don't know which they're really doing. The log is hard to read.

Oh yeah, and as a note of the truck thing, I heard on our news that they are anticipating truck stoppings near the 10/15 interchange near the racetrack b/c of the races this weekend.

CHP (looking at the LA area and sometimes Orange county...not just hot spots)...they put it under traffic hazard it seems...earlier they had a log for it... They pulled it after a few other line were added. From what I can see (when I look at CHP and sigalert sites both) for SD, both show the same details if something's listed (if you look at the details for each incident on the sig alert site).


Currently another listing for a big rig blocking lanes on 14 near placerita canyon...can't tell if it's related or just a stall or something

Also, reporting that the 10 is now closed b/c of the fire both EB and WB

I ended up pulling both sites up too. My son is driving up to Burbank tonight so we usually try to check and see what's going on. His fiancee called about 10 minutes ago and said traffic is an absolute nightmare. He's going to wait until later tonight to leave and hopefully it'll clear out some.. crossing fingers...

I just noticed on the CHP site that there are now 2 grass fires in the LA area too. Both in the Baldwin Park area off the I 10.

Both the one at 10/57 and the 10 one in San Bernadino seem to be 'real ones' not just a little one that springs up b/c of a car starting brush or something... Interesting that the same spot of 10/57 there has also been a stalled car...so maybe it really is from that? Maybe someone closer up there will hear more on local news cause it's hard to tell much from the CHP/sig sites.

I just was looking at KNX1070.com in the traffic area...they have a map that lets you see far more areas plus has details...if anyone wants to find LA/Orange County traffic incidents for fires or truck stuff or whatever in the future, that one looks like it could be good.
