CNN is Debunking Richard Clarke!!! (Are Pigs Flying?)

Wolf Blitzer just did an amazing segment on his Inside Politics program.
He led off with a detailed explanation of Clarke's allegation that the Clinton administration's "shaking the trees" led to the capture of the millenium bomber in Seattle. Wolf explained that Clarke had claimed in his testimony that a similar high-alert level prior to 9/11 might likely have prevented that horror. Wolf further showed how Condi Rice had denied Clarke's charge, saying those border agents were not on high alert.
Then Wolf brought on the actual border patrol agent who stopped the bomber in Seattle. He gave her plenty of time to tell what happened. (Bomber came across on ferry, gave unsatisfactory answers and was sweating profusely prior to agents discovering "powder" in the wheel well of his car. She was awesome!)
Then Wolf lowered the boom: "Were you on high alert due to the millenium?"
She said, "No, we weren't. In fact there WAS NO elevated alert system at that time. We were just doing our jobs."
Nailed! What's amazing is that CNN bothered to run this "old news". What's gotten into them? And it was probably a 15 minute interview...quite long for your average political show. I was stunned.

Of course the tide isn't turning.
It has never been an issue of CNN not running stories that may reflect negatively on the Democrat agenda. They do, and they always have.
It has always been an issue of proportionality.
I still hold out no hope that CNN may begin giving truely balanced coverage on a regular basis.

I would guess that the folks at CNN are already reading the tea leaves and they do not want to be "out" when Bush gets reelected.
In other words, a CYA function.

Something strange is going on. Agree. I think some donkey went too far trying to peddle a false story and got caught. It'll be interesting to see if something comes out on why the media is p.o.'d at the Dems.

Possibilites...
- Hell froze over
- Democrats get a conscience
- Hell froze over
- Even the Democrats are afraid of Kerry
- Hillary paid off the media to trash Kerry so she can step in when he bows out.
- The Republicans paid off the media.
- HARRP is working like the conspiratists said and is controlling the minds of the media.
- Simon Barsinister's truth ray is working and soon the world won't be able to stand itself and they will willingly submit control of the world's affairs to the only person still able to lie to them.
- Hell froze over

(Are Pigs Flying?) I'm in a quandry. I'm wondering whether I should be reveling in the fact that some truth actually comes out......or should I be concerned about ducking overhead pig turds.

What's amazing is that CNN bothered to run this "old news".Exactly. Where was CNN when Clarke was having his "fifteen minutes" and spewing his lies to the 9-11 Commission? The truth was available, and Clarke was exposed as a liar and a fraud, weeks ago. It's easy to be a Johnny-come-lately to the truth when most of the rabble is no longer paying attention and the lies have already done their damage.
Better late than never for CNN, I suppose, but I remain skeptical about the timing of their attonement and their motivation for (finally) coming clean on at least one part of Clarke's testimony. There's still plenty of other Clarke lies and contradictions that CNN continues to ignore.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have instructed their minions to make sure Kerry does not win this election. Or... That Kerry doesn't even get the nomination, and perhaps Hillary! does in an open convention.

To expand on my last comment, you all need to get a grip.
Clarke has already been roundly discredited, and the polls reflect this.
CNN throws you a dry bone by running one dead story after it is completely irrelevant and already played out, and you all start singing Hallelujah. Sheesh.

(Bomber came across on ferry, gave unsatisfactory answers and was sweating profusely prior to agents discovering "powder" in the wheel well of his car. She was awesome!) The day after Dr. Rice's testimony, the headline story in the Peninsula Daily News (the local paper for Port Angeles, Washington where the bomber was arrested) was headlined in words to the effect that "Local Agents Say Rice Testimony is Correct: They Were Not on Alert".

Sorry, but your arguments are weak.
Case in point. When Kerry was confronted about his medals this morning, he was able to shift blame to GWB, Cheney, the Republican attack dogs, AND Karen Hughes. Now that's talent! Although Kerry did fail to connect Halliburton.
lol.

I heard this, too. Sure glad I had the VRC recording the interview......I can play it back as proof to myself I didn't dream it. LOL!
I honestly expected her to say they were on alert and was shocked when she said they weren't. Shocked that Wolfie actually had her on.
Hades must be a mighty cold place today. ;-)
