[history]
I have seldom seen a more sustained, damaging campaign of character assassination than the attacks on federal Judge Charles Pickering by Senate Democrats and such groups as People for the American Way and the Alliance for Justice. His nomination to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals by the president has been filibustered by the Democrats, and he is now on that bench temporarily through a recess appointment.

At long last, Sen. Schumer, have you no sense of decency? It should be obvious that if Schumer were honest he'd say, "hell no".

I think Schumer would first have to look up the definition for "decency."

Upchuck Schumer's test for a "Qualified" Court Nominee:
1) Kill as many babies as possible
2) Don't be a member of an Evangelical Church (i.e. Christian)

I'm afraid my repulsive senator knows the definition of decency all too well. The "paper of record" made sure to mention that he maxxed out his SAT scores before he went to Harvard, IIRC. It's just that his partisanship prevents him from being decent or honest.

Next, one of Schumer's staffers would have to call Hillary's office and make sure it was OK for him to mention decency. The sharp-eared staffer would remember that hearing this word often drives the Hildebeast into a vicious frenzy.

Good read. Here's another Hentoff piece on the same subject:
http://www.villagevoice.com/hentoff/ I just posted it on a lib board with the title "Great article on Bush judicial nominee." They'll start reading thinking its a hit piece (village voice) hehehe!

Yeah, I just went over to the voice site and checked him out some more. He's a funny one. Very smart and prinicpled. Worth reading. He's doing a good job on Pickering. I just posted it on a lib site making em think it'd be a good hit piece (who expects this from the village voice??). HAHA!

It may be the nice Spring weather, but I truly feel the wheel now starting to turn in America in favor of Bush and a Republican Senate. This will undo the wrongs of Schumer and the pack of rareified special-interest liars who egg him on.

Sen. Schumer, have you no sense of decency?LOL, first of all "decency" and "Schumer" look bizarre in the same sentence. Secondly, the whole "racial" thing was merely a convenient, albeit lame and duplicitous, excuse for filibustering Pickering. "Racial insensitivity" has absolutely nothing to do with it.
The Democrat Party is not known as "the abortion party" for nothing - - the abortion industry is one of the Democrat Party's primary money laundering operations, along with the "jackpot justice" litigators and trial lawyers, and the Democrat Party took its marching orders from their masters and killed the Pickering nomination.
Nat knows this, the Republicans know this, and Schumer and the Democrats know this. It ain't rocket science.
To: Huck
Thanks for the link. IIRC, Hentoff is also a liberal who's against abortion.

He's a great writer. Very liberal, but very honest.
Thirty years ago, he was the darling of American liberalism. But as abortion took center stage, his life-long pro-life position pushed him towards the unloved fringes in the eyes of leftists. He actually dared to disagree with them on a single issue, and they'll not stand for that.
Later, his relentless and principled anti-Clinton articles enraged the liberals to the point that he is now officially persona non grata.

Great article by Nat. I read him all of the time in the Wash. Times and I agree with him about half of the time. One of our differences is the Patriot Act. I think that Nat is wrong in a lot of his opposition.

At long last, Sen. Schumer, have you no sense of decency? Anyone who saw Schumer in action in the House Judiciary Committee during the Waco hearings and the Clinton impeachment hearings already knows the answer to that question.

Well, it's good to know that Pickering isn't racist (not that I ever thought he was). But what I'd really like to know is whether he'll enforce the 4th amendment. Republican-appointed judges unfortunately seem to have a blind spot for that particular provision in the Constitution.

This was a great article. Then at the end Hentoff chose to throw in this side-splitting joke for a humor break.
The man is a literary genius!
