Chinese Diplomats Rush Past Lab Guards (Los Alamos)
Washington Times ^ | Bill Gertz

Posted on 04/26/2004 8:16:07 AM PDT by threat matrix

Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Lab guard post near classified facilities in what United States officials think was ian intelligence mission, the Washington Times has learned.

The diplomats, identified as Hua Yu and Bo Lai, were on an intelligence mission that is raising new worries of Chinese nuclear spying against the United States, according to US officials familiar with the incident.

Pajarito Road is the site of two sensitive facilities. One is the Critical Assembly Facility known as Technical Area 18, the other is the Plutonium Reasearch facility, known as Technical Area 55.

Both facilites are used for classified nuclear weapons activities.

A spokesman for Los Alamos declined to comment on whether the FBI was notified. An FBI spokesman could not be reached for comment.

They ran out of the secret ingredient needed to make General Tso's chicken. Where else would one go shopping for secret ingredients than at Los Alamos? Its a diplomatic crisis dontchaknow.

I don’t understand!!! Doesn’t anyone arrest spies anymore? Is national security a Political game? Are American lives a political game? The left/radical/Socialists/Communists call them what you want, have way to much power…It will only get worse with `Hanoi John` Kerry if elected…Hey, I’m not even American and I get concerned over this stuff…

Several years ago my daughter was on a tour of the Los Alamos labs. These were all college students with a MINDER......there was one girl who was not a US citizen who was NOT allowed to take the tour.

This during X42's regime. All the while the chinese were getting free access to all our secrets. A young college student was denied a simple tour.

Chief Inspector Clouseau of the Sureté, head of American Nuclear Security

Inspector Clouseau said, "At this point, we briefed the gentleman on the fact that Pajarito Road was closed to the general public. They were asked for identification. They were briefly questioned as to what they were up to. Their vehicle was searched, and after that, we gave them back all of their cameras and microfilm, and they were promptly escorted out of the area. They were all quite polite, and were very happy and laughing when we told them they could leave. They even smiled and waved at us as they drove away. Nice people!" said Clouseau.

I don't know what all the fuss is about?

The Chicoms are just as much fooling around ON THE INSIDE OF THE FENCE at L.A.N.L. as they are around Pajarito Road on the outside of the facility. There are chinks (no pun intended) in our security armour all throughout that "campus" with it's "open, academic, international atmosphere". Nothing has changed from the Clinton Chicom Nuke Scandal.

The only thing that surprises me is the Chinese did not co-opt some roundeyes to drive around and take photos and samples for them...to attract less attention.

I find this article to be highly dubious. Here are some examples of the irregularities I found in the report:

"According to an incident report, the diplomats sped a white Ford Escort past a guard post..."

I'm sorry, but anyone who has ever driven a Ford Escort knows that they don't speed anywhere, unless after bieng pushed off of a steep cliff.

"Security guard Joseph Chavez was at the post at the time and reported that the car "ran his post at a high rate of speed,..."

The use of the term "high rqate of speed" is indeed equestionable. We're talking about an Escort here folks.

Finally. the most glaring omission in the report is that we all know that orientals can't drive. < / SARCASTIC HUMOUR >
