Anyone who is bored or foolish enough to read this entire thread understands that my involvement here was as in strident opposition to aznative's post. Underpinning my argument was the supposition that an infintessimal minority of the worlds 1.2 billion Muslims were complicit in the 9/11 murders or other Islamist terror acts, and were therefore not enemies who needed to be eliminated.

You jumped into the fray in an adversarial role, and while you didn't support genocide you certainly didn't make any attempt to acknowledge that my arguments were in opposition to the sentiment aznative presented. I'm happy you've made it crystal clear that you never advocated the genocide of Muslims.

YOu are correct, the levelof anti-semitism in Europe has most certainly increased. However, my impression in Germany has been that the people make a very conscious and overt attempt to make sure it is understood that their criticism of Israel is not anti-semitism, but rather critique of the policy of a given state. Based on how they phrase their arguments, I see this as honest, although I disagree with them.

An article not to long ago described anti-semitism as the hatred of Jews because they are Jews, and not the hatred of what they do. It was followed by an example: One friend comes into a bar and sees his other friend smiling and happy. He asks, "Why are you so happy?", the firend replies, "because the Israelis shot down three MIGs today." The next day the friend walsk in and his friend is smiling again. He asks the same question and the friend replies, "Becaues the Israelis shot down 4 MIGs today." The third day the friend walks in and sees in friend completely depressed and asks what is wrong. The friend replies, "I found out Israelis are Jews."
