Oh, how I hope you are right!! Hillary and Bill are not the Powerful POTUS and Partner in Crime, (two 'fer! gotcha!)they usta was. Hillary is unelectable without a whole lot of fraud going on, as she was in NY, but the POTUS was huffing and puffing and blowing your resistence down.

The Great Grifter is sorta out of work! He and his gargoil minions have steadily over the last 10 years decimated the Democratic Party, big time! Gore is not well loved, Kerry is a Gore wannabe and lookalike dork. The Dems were in a huff that the Grifter had not carried the day in 2000. Again they have missed the point. He should have, but he didn't and killed The VP in the process. Killed the Democratic Party too, although the dying is taking awhile. A Dork too many.

Hillary can't win, she can't take the glare and is not likely to leave herself open to humiliation. Not our Screecher for power. Even those who are Clintonites might back up at kissing Hillary's hand over an 8 year span. She has none of Bill's slippery charm, only the feminists love her.

Afraid of the large necked river beast? Not! As Our President says, Bring it on! He is more than a match for the former residents of the White House.

The clintoons control the Dem party right now. They will be the ones who decide who will be the Dem candidate (forget the presumptive candidate - he will only be it if the clintoons agree).
I think you're right that they are killing the party and that it is taking awhile. I'd almost like to see hillary run in '04; that would be the end of the Dem party.
