To paraphase George Orwell
We sleep safe in our beds tonight because rough men with guns in distant places stand ready to do violence on our part.
God bless all those who go into harms way for us.

Thank God for our most dangerous weapon-"a U.S. Marine with a rifle!" These young men are true heroes-the only thing the enemy understands is decisive brutality! One shot one kill, why not a lot of shots a lot of kills? Maybe our Marine Snipers can use M-249s at close range.

Today, tonight, tomorrow, there are small battles going
on world wide with our special forces. You will never
hear about them, nor will they be published. A good
example is the death of Pat Tillman. That firefight
would never have been heard of, had Pat not perished.
Yes, God Bless all of our Troops. They are now fighting
in far off places, so we may sleep in safety.
They are more then "Special Forces. They are special people.

"In negotiations aimed at ending the standoff in the city, the insurgents have demanded the Marines pull back their snipers."
Meaning: It is working.
"Although official policy discourages Marines from keeping a personal count"
Right, stupid thought. Cops keep count of the tickets they give out, the tech support at your ISP has to have X number of calls per hour, football teams keep score, etc, etc. Life is all about competition no matter what the liberals would like to think.
"The snipers clear the streets for us," said Capt. Douglas Zembiec. "The snipers are true heroes."
Enough said.

The sniper rifle, a M-40A3, is a bolt-action model specially assembled at the Marine Corps armory in Quantico, Va. The scope magnifies to the 10th power.

I had been predicted on my for some time this exact scenario.
That when the terrorists finally go head to head with our military they would get creamed by our far superior forces.
The terrorists have always fought from the shadows.
But now being faced with a real military they are simply no match.
This is almost like a training ground for our troops.

Kudos to these warriors. What I am also waiting for is a response to street demonstrations involving an AC-130 pass quickly followed by an A-10 napalm drop into what's left. One by one is great, but there's nothing wrong with a little wholesale house cleaning to go along.
It will be a pity to lose all those CNN and Al Jazeera cameramen on the fringes of the crowd, but as good leftists they should understand that to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs.

For all the Charlie Rangels who think there needs to be a draft I can't see some Wall Street banker doing this kind of working without crapping his pants. Thank God we have a volunteer army where guys who know what they are doing and are the best at it have chosen to be there.

"Sometimes a guy will go down, and I'll let him scream a bit to destroy the morale of his buddies," said the Marine corporal. "Then I'll use a second shot." hm. Kerry would call this a war crime. I call it a smart move.

I've been reading about Marine scout-snipers and their training for the past several years. They are the crown jewels of the Marine Corps in my opinion, and the idea of Jihadis showing up with their Dragunovs to try to play scout-sniper tag with them would be funny if there weren't so much gore involved.
My mind is reeling at the thought of this Marine Corps specialty, developed mostly in the relative peace since Vietnam, being turned loose in a real combat environment with real targets. Among these young men are the instructors, tacticians and authors of the future.
God bless them all.
