Colo. GOP's Statement on Kerry Draws Fire

Democrats are furious about a statement by Republicans saying that comparing one of their candidates to presidential candidate John Kerry would be worse than comparing someone to the Ku Klux Klan.

The dispute started when The New York Times inadvertently published a photo of Republican Senate candidate Pete Coors above a story about a KKK member who murdered a black sharecropper. The Times published a correction Saturday.

Cinamon Watson, spokeswoman for Coors, said the error was "so outrageous it's kind of funny. It could have been worse. Pete could have been identified as John Kerry."

Chris Gates, chairman of the Colorado Democratic Party, demanded an apology. He said Democrats are "out there campaigning positively on the issues, and the Republicans can't help but resort to the lowest level of insult and name-calling."

Kerry spokesman Phil Singer said the comment was "the kind of thing people hate about politics."

Coors, head of the Coors brewing empire, is seeking the Republican nomination to fill the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, who is retiring

The Republican response should be two words: "Robert Byrd".

Of course, the MoveOn.Org ad and the remarks comparing Bush to Hitler are part of free speech.

Kerry spokesman Phil Singer said the comment was "the kind of thing people hate about politics."

And the rest of America responded, "This utter lack of a sense of humor by the Kerry campaign is the kind of thing people hate about politics."

Wait a minute... The house organ of the DNC, The New York Times prints a picture mis-identifying the Republican candidate as a murdering Kluxer, and the Democrats are demanding an apology?

Credit Coors with running a classing campaign and cracking a joke instead of getting into high dungeon. Imagine for a second that The Washington Times had printed a photo of the Democratic candidate and mis-identified him as a murdering Kluxer. The 'Rats heads would have exploded!

Also, note that The New York Times printed their correction on Saturday, when their readership is about one-tenth of what it is the rest of the week.

Black, Pot, Calling...

I defy anyone, infact I challenge anyone to show me ONE thing the Dems are positively campaigning on?

All the Dems ever do is name-call!! And why hyphenate that? When does this hyphenation rule come into play?

More precisely, the remark made by Chris Gates, chairman of the Colorado Democratic Party, who demanded an apology saying Democrats are "out there campaigning positively on the issues,
is in stark contrast to what the voters are hearing from the wonderful hysterical segment of Demodogs driving this pre-election season, like MoveOn, MacAwful, Kennedy, Hitlery, Byrd, and their minions.

The people all recognize a witty comment when they hear it, and these humorless spokeswen for the Demodogs are critically, and strategically, injuring the whole party. I love it, and I hope they keep it up.
