Kerry with the active and apparently enthusiastic support of Bishops O'Malley and McCarrick continues to show that Roman Catholic doctrine means as much as Unitarian 'christianity'.

Kerry was raised a Catholic, served as an altar boy, and once considered becoming a priest. Nevertheless, he said yesterday, "Whatever my personal beliefs are, they have no place here," John Kerry (Devout Catholic)

Typical political BS

Personal beliefs about any subject matter .
That is if you have any besides just getting elected which most politicians DON'T

I'm not Catholic and I do not believe in abortion. I also don't consider it a "right". Abortion rights is just another catchy political phrase used to value the act of abortion. Those who are in favor of it want it treated with the same reverence as voting rights or free speech-it is neither.

I don't even think the real issue is whether Kerry calls himself Catholic or if he switched to another faith. The bigger issue, in my eyes, is that he flouts authority - in this case the authority of the Catholic Church. It's not hard to make the jump as to whether or not, as a politician, he flouts other forms of authority. (ie: Constitution) If he can't recognize authority, how can he function as an authority in the office of the Presidency?

WHY is it OK for him to say he will only support pro-choice judges, but it's NOT OK for President Bush to only support pro-life judges?????

As for partial-birth abortions needed to save a woman's life--I think it probably takes longer to kill the baby by poking a hole in the back of its head and sucking the brains out before the baby is delivered, than it would take for the mom to give a few pushes and the baby to enter the world, alive. I just cannot fathom people believing that this horrible procedure is EVER necessary.

Like Kerry I am Catholic, unlike Kerry I am Irish (his mother had to pick the name of the county that's the butt of jokes in the other 31 counties- fitting I suppose as he's the biggest Kerryman joke of them all).

Anyways, as an Irish Catholic, whatever about Catholism in other countries, here's the inside track- Catholics have mastered the condition known as Doublethink; they can be liberal and conservative at the same time without even the slightest sense of contradiction- see the way JP2 staunchly opposed the Soviet Union, while supporting leftist movements in Latin America, which I suppose he reconciled by condemming both Capitalism and Communism (I think he favours a form of Corporatism).

From what I can see Catholic Theology revolves around the concept of having your cake and eating it- hence Kerry's devout Catholism and pro-genocide stance.

Kerry never did admit to being a holy person.
Actually, among other things, he's very unholy!
