Baghdad, Iraq-AP -- The U-S military says a Marine has died of wounds suffered while fighting guerrillas in Iraq's western Anbar province.
The Marine was a member of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. The military says it's withholding the circumstances of the death in order to avoid providing information to enemy forces. The injuries were sustained April 14th and the Marine died Thursday.
The soldier's name will not be released until the family is notified.

This makes 110 Coalition KIA for the month of April 2004, which ties November 2003 for the most fatalities in one month since the outbreak of hostilities last March. We are already well past the previous high for American casualties (82 in 11/03 versus 107 in 04/04). Just for the record.

Every one of these reports is one report too many for my liking. I had hoped we'd make an example out of Fallujah that no self-respecting terrorist would fail to quake in his boots to think about.
It's pretty damn easy for me to sit here carping about how the military leaders are handling some things in Iraq, but I'll be damned if it doesn't seem that we're allowing the terrorists to score far too many three-pointers these days.
This sucks!
May God bless this man. He died for a noble cause.
