The thing about the Clintons is that you know that the only thing THEY care about is THEMSELVES.

With Kerry, I have no idea WHO or WHAT is behind him.

Ramsey Clark, George Soros, Marc Rich and the PLA for starters?

I think he is an "agent of influence" for the former Soviet bloc. He is such a reactionary liberal; I think he is a bought-and-paid-for Commie.

Hubbard was NEVER in Vietnam. His 2 "wounds" while in the Air Force came from playing hockey and basketball. Source: Stolen Valor.

Orlando Sentinel***Kerry wants to link U.S. foreign policy to participation in -- and a willingness to be constrained by -- international organizations, such as the United Nations. He gets it from his father, a State Department diplomat who criticized U.S. Cold War policies as blind to world opinion and unreasonably harsh on the Soviet Union.***

CBS News: Kerry's World: Father Knows Best***"Americans," he writes, "are inclined to see the world and foreign affairs in black and white." They celebrate their own form of government and denigrate all others, making them guilty of what he calls "ethnocentric accommodation -- everyone ought to be like us." As a result, America has committed the "fatal error" of "propagating democracy" and fallen prey to "the siren's song of promoting human rights," falsely assuming that our values and institutions are a good fit in the Third World. And, just as Americans exaggerate their own goodness, they exaggerate their enemies' badness. The Soviet Union wasn't nearly as imperialistic as American politicians warned, Kerry argues. "Seeing the Soviet Union as the aggressor in every instance, and the U.S. as only reacting defensively, relieves an American observer from the need to see any parallel between our use of military power in distant parts of the world, and the Soviet use of military power outside the Soviet Union," he writes. He further claims that "Third world Marxist movements were autonomous national movements" -- outside Moscow's orbit. The book culminates in a plea for a hardheaded, realist foreign policy that removes any pretense of U.S. moral superiority.

Despite its blunt arguments, The Star-Spangled Mirror received little attention. Foreign Affairs greeted it with a 90-word summation in its review section. But the work of Richard Kerry, who passed away in 2000, will soon experience posthumous reconsideration. It won't be because of the renewed relevance of his arguments (although his book does read like a contemporary brief against neoconservatism). It will be because his son is a leading candidate to run U.S. foreign policy. ***

One should also notice what puts the slime in the New York Slimes. Al Hubbard, like lots of those VVAW jokers, was a completely dishonest SOB. The admission that he lied about his rank only deflects from the horrendous underlying fact that this Meet the Press leftist stooge was a fraud - never in Vietnam. The Slimes calls his "Vietnam service" a matter of "serious question." The whole thing is disgraceful and should be a humiliating footnote on the childish credulity of peace creeps. Instead, the Slimes makes his veracity only a matter of serious question. Hubbard needed to cook up a sting of lies so that he could make himself into an effective traitor. The NYT reporter is a long way from suggesting this obvious truth.

How eager is the Times to get the word out on Kerry, the Saturday edition, the lowest circulation? All of the most incriminating statements have been verified by other, but less well known, sources. This way they can act like this is all old news. They have good reason to fear Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry.

America has committed the "fatal error" of "propagating democracy" and fallen prey to "the siren's song of promoting human rights," falsely assuming that our values and institutions are a good fit in the Third World.

Oh great! So we'd be a better Nation and would be appreciated more in the world if we just "assume" that the 3rd world is unworthy of freedom and incapable of of handling it if they had it?

The arrogance of elitism, is absolutely astounding.

I contend that the entire world would benefit from the wholesale adoption of the US Constitution and rigorous application of it's original intentions (less slavery, of course).

As hard as it may be to believe, this yoyo is a bigger POS than der Slickmeister.

Like he!! he is!!

JFK, in some ways is honestly an idiotic buffoon!

Der Slickmeister is a graduated Rhodes scholar and knew and knows exactly what he was and is doing!

Don't ever compare the two for Der Slickmeister is far more intelligent and capable in his devious anti-American ways than John Kerry could even dream of being.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this the FIRST mention in the Times of the KC assassination plot? And the fact that Kerry was present at the meeting where the plot was voted on?

I sure hope the Bush campaign is holding this issue in reserve for use in commercials.

The NY Times is absolutely amazing. Even in a piece describing several actions that would constitute high treason, they still regularly suck up to him and make him look like a shining star.

The phrase "polishing a turd" comes to mind.

Oh, and how the hell does someone -forget- being at a meeting where assassinations are being plotted? I mean, how can one -possibly- forget that? What the hell else was he doing then, that would make something like that forgettable?

Exactly!

John Kerry should be saying, "it's certainly not something a person could forget. They were supposedly talking about assassinating senators. I'm sure that every person that attended remembers it. I have no recollection of that, I wasn't there."

The problem for Kerry is, that presupposes that other people that attended those few meetings would have accurate memories that could place Kerry at them. So Kerry plays dumb and it lends a false credence to other people having poor recollection ability.

That in itself -- poor recall -- is a sign of incompetence. Flip flop Kerry has nowhere to turn without looking incompetent because he is incompetent. How ironic is it that he is so readily identified as an incompetent liar -- always getting caught in his lies.
