But the one that made me furious was an enlarged photo of Pat Tillman -- could miss it, he was in his Arizona Cardinals uniform -- with the slogan underneath ANOTHER NAZI BITES THE DUST

I'm glad you didn't have your Big Dawg with you. That individual needs an ol' fashioned a$$ kicking, however, and I hope he gets it sooner rather than later..

It is not good for me to be that angry. And it is certainly a bad combination to be that angry and packing. The whole thing about CCW is being responsible and cool-headed. Today was one such instance when it clearly would have gotten the better of me.

Thank God for small mercies. (We did, however, engage in a shouting match through the car window.)

I don't actually serve in the Air Force--I'm work for a defense contractor. However, I am in the Army National Guard. Previous active duty--I was commissioned through the ASU ROTC program in '91. Go Sun Devil Battalion!

Man, this Pat Tillman story... I don't know whether my heart is swelling with pride, for having served with guys like this, or breaking.

I hope they smoked the ragheaded son of a bitch swine who killed Ranger Tillman.

The entire population of the Middle East isn't worth a single Pat Tillman.

"We need to earn his sacrifice."

Amen... But we'll never earn his or the others who go forth for us and make the ultimate sacrifice; they gave it their all... They are so much better than this middle aged man...

I'm quite sure if you go to the DU website one will find posts from our fellow citizens cheering the demise of one of our own.

They are demented and not worthy of anything more than deportation... We, as a nation, lose a hero; and they will cheer...

God Bless Pat Tillman and our heros...

Pat Tillman's story needs to be told. Our children need to know the U.S. Armed Forces is composed of PATRIOTS who may have been Red Devils. Parent's will pray their children can live in freedom. They will become the beacons of liberty in this dying world.
My condolences to the Tillman family and all the American Families who grieve and celebrate the lives their departed loved ones.

My God, it would've taken everything I had to not get out of my truck and ram that sign up that person's ass. And I'm not a violent person by any means, never won a fight I ever got in. I understand what you mean about reaching for that piece, believe me. That is so far beyond the pale, and yet protected by our Constitution, that the armed forces (that this person no doubt hates) are sworn to protect.

And the sick irony is, Pat Tillman, and all the other hundreds of our brave men and women who have died since 9/11/2001, have died keeping that sign-carrying idiot safe from terrorism. Gratitude, thy name is liberal...not.

***While driving home, I passed a demonstration. It's in a little town called Claremont, CA...

....Passing one of the main intersections, there were the obligatory DEATH TO GEORGE BUSH posters. Along with BUSH LIES, A CHILD DIES. But the one that made me furious was an enlarged photo of Pat Tillman -- could miss it, he was in his Arizona Cardinals uniform -- with the slogan underneath ANOTHER NAZI BITES THE DUST.***

Damn, I'm real close to there, in Glendora, CA. It's all I can do to keep from jumping in the truck right now...

sick, depraved bastards.

As long as America continues to produce men such as this, we will never be defeated.

I am in tears... partially sorrow... partially awe...

Rest in Peace, Ranger.

I would have had to stop myself from running them down!!

A tribute to Pat Tillman.......

The Ranger Creed
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my Ranger Regiment.

Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One-hundred-percent and then some.

Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.

Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.

RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

If you go the Cardinals offical message board, there are hundreds of requests for this, as well as to retire his number. I can't think of anything more fitting to honor this true American hero.

Here are Tillmans' words from Sept 12, 2001:

Tillman: An American Hero “I was dumbfounded by everything that was going on,” shared Tillman shortly after 9/11. “In times like this you stop and think how good we have it. I have always had a great deal of feeling for the flag but you don’t realize how great of a life we have over here. In times like this, you think about how good we have it and what kind of a system we live under, what freedoms we are allowed. That wasn’t built over night. The flag is a symbol of all that. A lot of my family has gone and fought in wars and I haven’t really done a damn thing as far as laying myself on the line like that so I have a great respect for those that have and what the flag stands for.”

I'm a never-served civilian, but as I understand the Rangers have another motto
besides "Rangers Lead The Way".
The other motto is:
Sua Sponte -- Latin for "of one's own accord; voluntarily."

Tillman had a truckload of "Sua sponte"...leaving behind a lucrative sports
contract and then making the ultimate sacrifice.

Just an example of what I consider a real hero: not that a hero is perfect or
god-like...a hero just shows the heights human heart, soul, and body can reach.

Two of the biggest stars were Clark Gable and Jimmy Stewart - though not making
the money of today's standards, went anyway.

When the topic of war and bravery comes up in talks with "the young crowd",
I usually mention the example of Jimmy Stewart.
I tell them that Stewart forced himself to gain weight so that he could
leave Hollywood, join the Army (Air Corps) and have a chance at taking a load of
flak-shrapnel to the crotch while piloting a B-17.

Thank heavens for Pat Tillman. He shows that sort of selflessness hasn't
been made extinct yet in this country.

I would like to see the NFL sponsor a scholarship to any of the Armed Forces Academy football programs honoring Tillman and what he represented. Tillman represented what is best in all Americans- love for family, love for country, honor, dedication, and sacrifice. Each recipient should exemplify those characteristics found in Tillman- and many of the fine young men and women who give the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country.

Why does God let MEN like this die young and jackasses like Ted "the drunk" Kennedy
live an eternity(on earth)?

Read the opening couple of stories in Luke, Chapter 13.

G-d lets us know that bad things and good things happen to good and evil people in
this flawed world.

It's only in the "final judgement" that true justice will be meted out.

You wouldn't believe the number of people I've seen on NFL/ football forums blaming President Bush for Pat Tillman's death.
