NOT everyone who works for the "Today" show is a fan of Katie Couric. A loose-lipped staffer called us to claim that Couric demanded a helicopter to fly her to a Greenwich, Conn., memorial for NBC News correspondent David Bloom on Wednesday evening, after she heard that the network was flying Tom Brokaw out on a chopper right after the "NBC Nightly News."

Campbell Brown, for those who don't know, is the daughter of former democratic LA insurance commisioner Jim Brown. He is serving a prison sentence for corruption related to the last adminstration of Edwin Edwards, also in prison.

This comment puzzles me, so I assume I'm misunderstanding. Rush Limbaugh is blatant about his political agenda. Is he untrustworthy as well?

I only picked Limbaugh because he's so visible, not due to any anti-Rush sentiment.

Rush is proud of his partisanship. He is a proud conservative, just like Carville is a proud liberal.

Katie pretends to be a newswoman. She tries to slip her bias under the the table, subtlely influencing her audience. I despise that.

Rush is unabashedly a political commentator and makes no pretense of being anything else, whereas network hosts such as Katy Couric would have you believe they are objective. Hosts like 'Cutesy' have a liberal agenda in all they do on television, reflective of the organizations to which they belong. The large networks deny having a leftist agenda. IMO, there is a big difference. Couric can only succeed if she is supported by her network, otherwise she joins other network has beens doing voice overs, appearing occasionally in ads, and sometimes a special or two.

My all-time favorite Perky moment was the Monday morning show after the capture of Saddam Hussein. Draped entirely in black and looking like death warmed over, Perky was on the verge of tears as she hammered away at the early "big" guests, trying and trying to pry some bad news from them.
I laughed all morning and wish now that I had taped it.
If you want to see the Happy Head agenda in action, tune into Today whenever there is good news from Iraq...Perky hasn't got the face for high drama!

Rush et al are honest about their affiliations and make no pretenses about thier agenda. Katie tries to put on the appearance of objectivity to make the masses believe that she is only reporting the news without bias. There is a huge difference.

Private helicopters are ok (I notice she didn't ask to "carpool")but you know she will be the first to tell others they shouldn't drive an SUV. How fuel friendly is a private helicopter? Typical liberal hypocracy.

Just compare the difference in her demeanor when interviewing a conservative vs a liberal. Truly is night and day.

Rush is a commentator. His job is to give his opinions. Katie is a journalist or claims to be. She is supposed to be neutral and report factual news and conduct unbiased interviews. If Katie were to label herself as a commentator (editorialist)rather than as a news reporter, it would be Ok!

She performs like a commentator(Rush), and represents her self as a journalist(Brit Hume). That is dishonest.
