Couple guilty of murder in grisly dismemberment death of five-year-old daughter

The father and stepmother of a five-year-old girl were convicted Thursday of murdering the child four years ago and disposing of her dismembered body parts in two parks in a horrific case that continues to stun the city with every new revelation.

The apparent ease with which the jurors reached their guilty verdicts came despite being unaware of some of the case's more gruesome evidence - especially allegations that Khan, angry because he believed little Farah Khan was the "bastard child" of his first wife in Pakistan, visited a butcher shop several times before her murder to watch a meat-cutter at work.

Justice David Watt deemed that evidence would jeopardize the couple's right to a fair trial. It was made public only after the jury began deliberating on Tuesday.

Court heard Khan became angry with his daughter when she kept asking him to buy her a $10 set of school photographs. He erupted in a fit of rage, chasing her around their apartment and clubbing her with a rolling pin. He denied killing the child, saying she'd slashed her own throat and died in his arms.

Police investigator Rolf Prisor said the girl's natural mother, still devastated by her young daughter's murder, would be immediately notified by police about the convictions. Shahida Jabeen has come to Canada from Pakistan in order to be close to her child's remains.

There is a lot here that is not said, even if you read the whole article, but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened here. Another follower of the religion of pieces to whom life means nothing. At least the little girl is at peace.

Father and stepmother. He obviously dumped his first wife, left her behind in Pakistan, took their daughter with him to Canada, and then murdered her because she offended against the Muslim honor code by possibly being illegitimate. If he thought so, why the devil didn't he leave her with his first wife?

Religion of peace, indeed. Canada has been talking about allowing Canadian Muslims to follow sharia law. This would make a good test case. Let's see how they handle it.

It won't be long and we won't be stunned by this kind of thing. To a muslim this was just property to be disposed of as he wished --- if he believed the mother committed adultery --- something he couldn't do for being a man --- it was the right thing to do to this child.
