PROJECT ANNOYING EMPATHY FOR TERRI SCHIAVO
FreepinForTerri (a.k.a. Jacque from Texas)

Posted on 04/22/2004 1:43:00 PM PDT by FreepinforTerri

Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 24 days. Terri has also been held prisoner in a single hospice room, unable to go outside for 1,473 days. Seeing those numbers really hit home with me. So I called Governor Bush. I said, "Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 24 days. She's been imprisoned in her room for 1,473 days. She's a prisoner and she's in danger. Have the Governor or DCF take guardianship of her." Tomorrow I will call the Governor's office again and say, "Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 25 days. She's been imprisoned in her room for 1,474 days. She's a prisoner and she's in danger. Have the Governor or DCF take guardianship of her." And so begins Project Annoying Empathy. Everyday I'm going to call the Governor's office and remind them how long Terri's been mistreated. I'll remind them that although they will allowed go outside today and they may see their loved ones, Terri will not. She's not a patient. She's a prisoner. She's in danger. She need the Governor's assistance to reclaim her rights as a human being. I am going to call them everyday. I've said my thank yous with all my heart to the Governor for Terri's Law, but there's a clause in that law for guardianship. He needs to use it. Who knows what stunts Michael might pull next. Any of you that want to join me, come on! The Governor's office number is 850-488-4441. Yes, this is a tad ridiculous, but so is allowing a disbled woman to be locked up like a criminal. It might not accomplish anything, but I can't just continue to do nothing. Maybe the numbers will strike a chord. Either way, it will remind the Governor's office daily that today is yet another day that Terri is being held hostage. <>< FreepinForTerri a.k.a Jacque From Texas

Maybe they should require that some low-level state employee visit her every day and make her some cupcakes or something to cheer her up a bit.

Well then I'll make a deal with you. When I post something that is difficult to read, therefore making people less likely to read it, you can be the first to call me on it. Fair enough?

jacque has broken her butt to help Miss. Schiavo and the last thing she needs in her few seconds of time to remind us how Terri is doing it to have you worrying and insutling her about paragraphs and english 101.

Get off your damn armchair before you criticize on such a matter as Terri.

( I am toning my anger down right now but you have no business as a new member to FR to have done what you did)

In the South, we are not generally quite so di-rect. Perhaps it would have been kinder to offer your assistance concerning the creation of paragraphs, thus subtly implying that "paragraphs are our friends". :-)

Interesting, but I didn't even notice the lack of paragraphs. What I did notice was the passion of someone who will not rest until this mother's child has been rescued from the pit of hell. Perhaps, jtminton, you'd like to add your daily call to the Governor, as I will now do, or join other FReepers at the Throne of Grace at 11 a.m.EDT daily for 5 minutes, as many now do, that this mother's child might be rescued from the pit of hell.

A pit of hell? So, you wanted Terri's Law and now that is not good enough? she lives in hell because of a law that so many people fought for?

I'm afraid you guys may wear out your welcome with Jeb Bush with your constant demands and whining.

Here's another email address re: guardianships. Even though this guy is with Elder Affairs, it shouldn't make any difference because they treat Terri as if she's near death. SEND YOUR WRITTEN COMMENTS AS RECOMMENDED.

TALLAHASSEE – The Guardianship Task Force plans to meet on Friday April 23, 2004 in the St. Petersburg area at Stetson University’s Gulf Port campus. The Guardianship Task Force will be addressing issues of guardianship and incapacity as directed by Senate Bill 2568 (2003). The public meeting will also include time to receive comments from the public on guardianship and incapacity. Public testimony is scheduled to begin at 10:00a.m.

Written public testimony may be mailed to the Guardianship Task Force, Statewide Public Guardianship Office, 4040 Esplanade Way, Suite 360-I, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-7000, faxed to 850-414-2384, or

emailed to Sean Griffith at griffithsp@elderaffairs.org

I love this idea!! I was at the October prayer vigil and have been haunted daily by Terri's plight. I did e-mail Jeb Bush about putting Terri in protective custody.

I had no reply.

You are so correct that something must be done to stop this madness. I was involved with Teresa Corrao who is written about in Wesley Smith's Forced Exit. A bed sore caused her final demise.
