Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 24 days. Terri has also been held prisoner in a single hospice room, unable to go outside for 1,473 days. Seeing those numbers really hit home with me. So I called Governor Bush. I said, "Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 24 days. She's been imprisoned in her room for 1,473 days. She's a prisoner and she's in danger. Have the Governor or DCF take guardianship of her." Tomorrow I will call the Governor's office again and say, "Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 25 days. She's been imprisoned in her room for 1,474 days. She's a prisoner and she's in danger. Have the Governor or DCF take guardianship of her." And so begins Project Annoying Empathy. Everyday I'm going to call the Governor's office and remind them how long Terri's been mistreated. I'll remind them that although they will allowed go outside today and they may see their loved ones, Terri will not. She's not a patient. She's a prisoner. She's in danger. She need the Governor's assistance to reclaim her rights as a human being. I am going to call them everyday. I've said my thank yous with all my heart to the Governor for Terri's Law, but there's a clause in that law for guardianship. He needs to use it. Who knows what stunts Michael might pull next. Any of you that want to join me, come on! The Governor's office number is 850-488-4441. Yes, this is a tad ridiculous, but so is allowing a disbled woman to be locked up like a criminal. It might not accomplish anything, but I can't just continue to do nothing. Maybe the numbers will strike a chord. Either way, it will remind the Governor's office daily that today is yet another day that Terri is being held hostage. <>< FreepinForTerri a.k.a Jacque From Texas
"He said, 'In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor regarded man, and there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, 'Vindicate me against my adversary.' For a while he refused; but afterward he said to himself, 'Though I neither fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will vindicate her, or she will wear me out by her continual coming.
"And the Lord said, 'Hear what the unrighteous judge says, And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will vindicate them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?"
We continue to seek the release of this mother's child from the pit of hell, consigned by the one who promised to love and cherish her, not imprison or seek her life. As you can read from His Word, God will act. Why? Because we cry to him day and night ... through prayer, through words and deeds, through faith. Blessed be His Name.
kookville, population 3. I stand with you both, Pegita and Ohioan. God's Word is true.
As many have been standing, all along with Pegita, lo these many months, so here am I, again, alongside Pegita and Ohioan.
Let's see....do I choose to associate myself with pegita and Ohioan who I know to be compassionate, praying people committed to doing the right thing or gringo, whom I meet as a result of his callous disregard and disrespect for these good ladies and for the innocent, God given life of a disabled woman. Tough decision, but I think I'll go with pegita and Ohion. Gringo, I do hope that God will soften your heart and open your mind. When you treat others with comtempt, perhaps you should look in the mirror and ask yourself what there is in you that causes you to react that way.
Dear Friends of Terri:
Many are writing and asking about Terri and whether her parents have been allowed in to see Terri. No, the Schindler's have not been allowed to see Terri. Michael still has refused them their parental rights.
I had a phone conversation with Pat Anderson today (Schindler's attorney) and she said that the police are still doing an investigation and until it is completed they will not be permitted to visit with Terri. She assured me that she is working very hard to get the Schindlers back in to see their daughter. I was not given an estimated date as to when this would happen.
RE TERRI: I spoke with one of the state investigators last week who actually saw Terri. She said Terri has recently been placed on a bed which is gauged by her height and weight, allowing for automatic repositioning. The inspector said she had never seen a bed of such technology and had wished all the patients she sees in nursing homes had one. So, your calls to the AHCA and DCF obviously did help Terri and consequently, she now has a nice bed. :-) The inspector was vague but did tell me that Terri was sitting up in a chair and was dressed when she spontaneously visited with her. I'm waiting on a written report of their findings and have been calling them on a daily basis to obtain one. :-)
In the meantime, Bob and Mary Schindler are feeling very overwhelmed and are incredibly stressed about everything that has happened with regard to the false allegations and not being able to see Terri. Not to mention Bob has not been feeling well. Although all of them are very appreciative of your support, they they have received over 500 emails. Pat suggested it would be wise to please try to refrain from emailing the Schindler's for a while. They have a lot going on at the moment and have been requested by their legal council to remain quiet. Please respect request from their council and hold off on sending emails.
I will continue to send out updated information just as soon as I have any new news to report about Terri. I promise you I am watching closely and will tell you everything that I see and hear.

In the meantime....here is how you can help.
Several days ago the Pope sent out a statement
Catholic facilities face struggle on end of life http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20040418/1006056.asp
The Pope basically stated that we have a moral obligation to provide humane care to those with cognitive disabilities. Doing anything less and causing harm or death is euthanasia by deliberate omission. Period.
To date, our local newspaper, also being Terri's local newspaper, The St Petersburg Times has not written anything in support of this statement or how in relates to helping Terri.
The St. Petersburg Times is a newspaper that should be in support of Terri, considering she is a resident in the county. They have not done so, and we all know how important positive media coverage is for Terri to have right now.
PLEASE flood the St. Petersburg Times with your emails. PLEASE demand that they begin covering the truth about Terri. Request that they cover the Pope's supportive comments on behalf of Terri. Terri is Catholic. The Pope's statement can be of help to Terri with regard to how unfairly she has been treated. The St. Petersburg Times NEEDS to be writing articles as such.
Place the Pressure on them folks! PLEASE!

Re: Letter to the President and your endorsement. So far, I have received close to 150 + signatures and comments endorsing the request for President Bush to come and visit Terri. The response has been phenomenal and the letters are still pouring in. For this reason, I have extended the deadline until Sunday, April 25th at midnight. Every comment and signature will surely make the difference.
PLEASE Help Terri by encouraging everyone you know to endorse the letter to the President and by continuing to send their endorsement and comments to Fight4Terri@aol.com.
