Why Kerry Will Lose

John Kerry continues to insist that the war on terror should be handled primarily as an intelligence and law enforcement issue. His assertion is that these agencies should be charged with determining who these terrorists are and where they are located. Then and only then according to Senator Kerry, should we use Special Forces to go in and try to eliminate them. Mr. Kerry further insists that he would not hesitate to use these forces in this way. He infers that terrorist units are “cells,” that somehow have autonomy from their host countries. Approaching terrorists from the perspective that they are isolated cells, operating independently with no ties to nation states, is as naive as it is dangerous.

Ok, Mr. Kerry, here is a scenario for you. We know, because we are killing them in Iraq, that Syria and Iran are sending terrorist fighters to fight against our forces there. Jordan has just prevented a terrorist attack in that country by terrorists using chemical or biological agents. The origin of those agents according to Jordan was Syria. This information is not based on the potential of faulty intelligence; it is based on conclusive facts.

Under these circumstances, both Syria and Iran are sponsoring terrorism and terrorist activities. Senator, please put forward your plan to drop Special Forces units into either of these countries to “take out the bad guys.” Further, how will you get them back out? Will you be assured that France and Russia will give you permission to undertake this mission? This scenario is not hypothetical; it is the state of affairs in that region and a clear indication of the shallow, ineffective type of response we could expect from a President Kerry.

Candidate Kerry also insists that our efforts against terrorism must be coordinated and approved by the International Community and under the leadership of the United Nations. This is a strong indication of someone who is incapable of acting from a position of personal leadership and requires consensus, even from those whose motives are suspect, before making a decision.

Perhaps the greatest point lost on the man who would be president, is how the majority of the American people actually feel about our actions and the response they expect from their government. The response that was projected after the mutilation of the four security personnel in Fallujah, was not one of tepid negotiation and appeasement, it was outrage, anger and a demand for retaliation. The majority of the American people supported the war with Iraq, support it still and above all do not want to lose this battle so critical to the security of the United States. Mr. Kerry just doesn’t seem to understand that.

It is not a random set of events that have culminated in the violence that has escalated in Iraq in the past weeks. If the efforts to install a representative type government in that country succeed, it may well serve as the model to which all who are repressed in the Middle East will aspire. This, not bombs and bullets, is what will bring a true peace to the Middle East and an end to domination of the people in that region by tyranny, intimidation and fear.

This fact is well understood by the supporters of terrorism and is why they now fight so ferociously. The factor that will decide who wins and who loses this contest of ideology will be a function of resolve. The quickest way to turn our efforts in Iraq into the Vietnam syndrome, espoused by John Kerry and his sidekick Ted, is to drag it into the political abyss. This is exactly the direction the Kerry campaign is pushing it. The people of Iraq know it, the American people know it, our men and women in the military definitely know it and the terrorist nations are counting on it. And this is why; John F Kerry will lose in November 2004.

"John Kerry continues to insist that the war on terror should be handled primarily as an intelligence and law enforcement issue."

Nazism and Communism were NOT seen as law enforcement issues.

Islam is an equal threat, and should not be viewed any differently, than the aforementioned evils.

It is a world political and military threat. That justifies war.

Kerry will lose because he is in severe need of a personality besides bore, hypocrite and arrogance.

The US 'cease-fire' in Falluja is ending. The baddies didn't turn in their weapons, the talks and promises were a farce. I guess lies from the enemy is something Kerry could not deal with.

I fully expect the Marines know how to deal with it.

It will be an interesting weekend.

I hope in November, the polls (and pundits) show Kerry to have a 5 point lead over Bush, just before Bush beats him with a 20 point margin.

I don't know if Bush can win by that much. But it would be cool.

Hopefully this will be realized by the DNC AFTER the Democratic convention.

Seeing a Democratic Savior flying into the Democratic convention "on a broom" would be very difficult to take in stride!
