Michigan City Council OKs Muslim Prayer Over Loudspeaker

Hamtramck,Mich.--Over some residents' objections, the City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to allow a mosque to send out a call to prayer to Muslims on a loudspeaker....five times a day.

No, we would not! The left in this country have been working with the musslammees for awhile. Until people wake up to that fact, we will continue to see legislation attacking Christians and freedom (and anything that makes life worthwhile here) and making things comfortable for terrorists to insert and hide themselves among us.

Your blind spot is you fail to realize Islam is not only a religious movement but a political one where church and state are seamless. It is totalitarian in every way and is an alien entity aligned completely against everything our Constitution stands for.

It is little different than Communism - an evangelical, murderous system seeking to physically and spiritually enslave all those it touches. Maybe a good idea for those against this thing would be to QUIT buying from muslime businesses, dont ride in taxis driven by muslimes, DO NOT frequent ANY muslime or arab business)

There's a slight difference here. Nobody I know asks the City Council for permission to turn up their radio. In this case, the mosque was asking the city for permission to exceed the noise standards at particular times. What Steve was looking for was a reason to turn them down, or make them stop, based on something other than our (justified) dislike of their religion. That's the only way a court challenge to the denial of a permit would survive.

According to reports, there were comparisons made between the church bells and the "call to prayer" and the Christian residents were prepared to eliminate the church bells because they were not really religiously significant.

I agree that the churches should drown out the call to prayer, personally. My main point, though, is that the secular American concept of equality before the law - aside from the religious issue - is being egregiously violated (once again). To go just a bit further, this is being done in the name of multiculturalism and diversity - both of which terms have been grossly mis-re-defined.

By pandering to the muslim request, the city council has abandoned any pretense of equality before the law for all residents of their town.

I have read several news articles where they are trying to become a cohesive political voting force.
