APRIL 21--John Kerry was "unofficially credited" with killing 20 enemy fighters during his five months in Vietnam, according to military records just released by the Democratic presidential candidate's campaign. The body count reference is included in a glowing 1969 Navy report that noted Kerry, a 25-year-old junior grade lieutenant, exhibited "all of the traits desired of an officer in a combat environment." The Navy document, a copy of which you'll find below, was among hundreds of pages released today by the Kerry camp in response to requests from reporters and criticism from Republicans demanding full disclosure of the U.S. Senator's military record. Then he came home and plotted to murder some Senators. I haven't seen any evidence supporting this allegation. Does it exist?
There are plenty of instances of outrageous behavior by the young Mr. Kerry. We will only weaken the credibility of the provable allegations by making allegations that have no support.

"The Kerry camp is clearly doing a Briar (sp.?) rabbit schtick here. "Oh, do we really have to release Senator Kerry's military records? Are you sure you want to see them? Well, OK then..." Could be. . .or Kerry will release just enough to have it appear so. Doubt we will ever see the 'truth of the matter' here; as to just how comfortable that briar patch is for Kerry.

He denied being at the meeting where this was discussed; it has been reported by others there; that j.effen was there as well. He says he no longer participated after this meeting; that is not true and there are records to support that.
It's here at FR. ..and maybe Winter Soldier.com. . .or in some good Freepers 'casefile'.
Someone will come up with better info; just thought I would fill in, a little. . .
j.effenkerry's post war/anti-war record needs a little more exposure and public 'appreciation' for his contributions.

I wonder what his crew has to say about this evaluation, never having seen it before.

I used to deal with lots of OERs in the Army, and I don't know how much this reflects on Navy back then, but there are two main things here. Most junior officers score in or near the top rankings if they are any good at all. Senior officers almost always score in the top ranking unless their career is over. Second, most of that earlier stuff didn't mean much, while only the bit at the end for the senior officer's rating was really meaningful.

I never knew his middle name was FORBES. No wonder he doesn't use it.

This is a terrible OER!!!!! Any officer receiving this OER has just had his career ruined.!!!!
During those times, every trait HAD to be to the left, maxed out.
Waht really bothers me are the character traits that need work. Listed below:
Professional Knowledge--
Loyality The commander questions his loyality??
Force
Industry --- You have to be pretty lazy.
Analitical ability --- Noted by his bad decision getting off his boat during a fire fight.
Behaviour --- what the hell did Kerry do to be knocked down in behaviour?? It had to be serious!!!
Military Bearing --- Look at the picture of him in uniform on his web site to see why this is an issue.
Self Expression Oral
Self Expression Written
And even Judgement is questioned!!!!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1109115/posts Check out threads like this one. Kerry was present at the meeting in November 1971, according to the FBI. The bigwigs retired to a Mennonite Hall to discuss top secret things, where they actually voted on whether or not to assassinate 6 Senators who had voted for the war. A witness puts Kerry among them and says Kerry voted against the murder plot and even argued against it. "How kind of him."
Two (or one?) of the six senators died within a couple of years in plane crashes, and one of them was shot in the chest a year after the plot in a "botched robbery" and his shooters were never caught. He miraculously survived.
Thus if true Kerry is guilty of conspiracy to murder federal officers. That could have won him life in prison.

i don't know for sure but i suspect that the from and to dates on this fitness report were the dates that he reported and date he deatached from that unit. an officer is normally given only 1 fitness report per year unless he is transferred or his commanding officer is transferred, in which case he will be given a fitness report for the length of time he worked under that commanding officer. so i suspect that his total tour of duty was from mid december until late march, approximately 3 1/2 months, being generous.

I appreciate your listing the row headings in this report. Now can you please tell me what the column headings are on the personal characteristic page. I can't read them on my monitor to see just how "glowing" this report is. Thanks.

"... 3 1/2 months, being generous..."
3 1/2 months is SURELY a short time to rack up all of the "achievements", awards, and war crimes John FUBAR Kerry admitted to havig had a hand in committing.

I had to take it to PSP and enhance to get the names. It was difficult and I'm not sure if the 10% number is correct.

Two things. First, in the attribution of "kills" Kerry would get credit for the kills that his boat accomplished not him personnaly. Second, since the "kills" were unconfirmed, it is just as easily 100 or 1000 or whatever. I believe that this is just the common pap that was inserted into fitness reports of all Naval officers that wre operational in the 'Delta. Interesting though, Sea Lords was an operation in the Rung Sat and it is only mentioned in passing. I participated in Sea Lords and I don't have ANY memory of a J.G. named Kerry, or for that matter any Swifties even being in it.
I guess that this is one of the things that makes you go Hmmmmm.....
