I can breathe, again. There's another adult in the arena. John O'Neill is amazing... Unflappable and undistractable.

I am awestruck. He takes no prisoners. He is adamant, believable and I am sad all over again at the damage Kerry did to his comrades in arms.He just makes the case that Kerry isn't fit to serve as CIC.

In opensecrets.org there is no record of him donating money to any candidate in the last 5 years.
This guy is a Kerry nightmare.

Yeah, and he was terrific. He explained how he was NEVER contacted by the Bush/Cheney Campaign. He also said that through the years he was contacted by Kerry's opponents in his political races but refused to get involved. He even had opportunities to get into politics through the years but declined. But, he just does not feel that John Kerry is fit to be the Commander in Chief for the U.S. troops all over the world.

Personally I've wanted to keep away from the religious aspect of Kerry's issues, as does O'Neill.
Having said that, I recently read that he's definitely put out the idea he has received an annulment, however a couple newspaper articles from 2003 noted he refused to confirm it.
I do think if he's made the issue public and given out an impression that something is so when it is not, that is fair game.

O'Neill is smart to do that. I want to see Kerry's medical records.

I was pleased that O'Neill raised the issue of Kerry's quick accumulation of purple hearts for very minor injuries.
The timing couldn't be better in the wake of the Kerry records or lack thereof brouhaha.
Kerry can just look to himself for having to face this criticism. He's decided to run on his Vietnam vet status and he's thrown in slamming Cheney and Rove by name for not going. He's asked for this scrutiny.

On this document: Thrice Wounded Reassignment [pdf: 112kb], I enalrged it trying to see what the date of this was. I know it was March '69, but I'm wondering if anyone who is familiar with military memos and how they are written can tell me if the date of this memo is March 17th, 1969. I see the "17" then another group of numbers, and then March '69. If this was written on the 17th, then it was written four days after he received his third Purple Heart.
I bet Kerry wrote it. It sounds like a newspaper ad:
Available for Position: Naval Lieutenant thrice wounded, seeking formidable position in New York, Boston or Washington, but will accept reassignment to any area for position I am qualified for. It should be noted however, that I am prone to papercuts.

NEVER FORGET
JOHN KERRY came back from the Vietnam War to call us American Soldiers fighting for Freedom in Vietnam ..rapists and...
...TERRORISTS
http://www.TheAlamoFILM.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=629 MEL GIBSON ..while filming our real American Soldier in Vietnam Story titled "WE WERE SOLDIERS" ..was inspired to finally make his long planned ultimate story of Love and Sacrifice titled...
.."The PASSION of the Christ"
I wonder who got our Story right..?
I think I'll place my bets on MEL.
How's 'bout you..?

I was brought up Catholic, and although I'd like to believe that money didn't play a part in Kerry's being able to get his annulment, I'm not that naieve to believe that he wasn't able to buy his way through the church. Money talks.

He honestly seems motivated by what he sees as Kerry's vicious attacks on the US soldiers and undermining the effort in Vietnam rather than politics. Kerry is the epitome of a sleazy politician. I'm glad O'Neill is highlighting and showing that book with that rather nasty handling of Old Glory on the cover. Kerry denegrates the flag in the book too. He never really was a patriot. Always out for himself.

You are probably right. I am catholic too and I know how the Church operates and Money could have very well played a big part in it.

There's talk maybe the annulment wasn't granted...
I read an article recently from 2003 that Kerry refused to confirm it. The piece pointed out that other references said Kerry "sought" an annulment but never said outright that it had been granted, then Kerry refused to say it had.
I was one who did not want to go there---until I read the issue is murky like that.
I'll post it if I can find it again. Before that I argued to drop the annulment angle and any criticism about his religious affiliation was his abortion stance (which a caller brought up today!).
