Kirsten, your photos made the news (Pictures of our troops in Iraq)(Please read)
Posted on 04/20/2004 8:59:37 PM PDT by Aliska
I will email Kirstin the link to this thread, so if you have some words of encouragement and prayers for her and her buddies, please post them. May God bless them all and bring them home safe.
These photos came from a young lady from my hometown serving in Iraq named Kirsten. The subject was "photos that will never make the news". For privacy reasons, I don't want to give out more information about her, but she emailed these to her sister and my daughter and they are being forwarded around the net through email. I am taking the liberty of posting them on Free Republic and want her to know that she and all her friends are in our thoughts and prayers for a safe return.
I believe the first picture is Kirsten with the kitty. She had to leave her own kitty in the care of her family back here and misses it very much.
I think I saw the last picture here on Free Republic awhile back.

These pictures move me to tears for our brave soldiers who are sacrificing so much for us. I'm sorry there was no text in the email about the pictures.

If you've got a sweetie in the military and send a letter to him you better coat it heavily with perfume.
I can't tell you how nice it was to receive a perfume laden letter when your far away.

That is a good idea. The picture doesn't need a caption, does it?

Rather odd...that isnt an American soldier. It looks like an Israeli soldier.
There are stark differences in the Israeli soldier helmet vs American soldier helmet.

Rather odd...that isnt an American soldier. It looks like an Israeli soldier. Ya think? Which picture? Some must be American troops. I did notice that what I believe to be Kirsten's picture (I've only met her sister) doesn't have the border, drop shadow, and text beneath it, so I don't know how they got grouped together like this. I'll try to get to the bottom of it, but it may take a few days.

Damn! Soldier with a kitten. These American heroes are just big kids with a mission and moral bearing. How human is this response to comfort and familiarity. I have a nephew serving in this mess. I hope he remembers....

Which picture? You only linked 1 picture in your post #4 (the soldier with the kitty cat).
All of the other pictures are most definitely American troops.

I am moved to tears as well. The first caption I thought of that applies to all is - THE HEART OF OUR HEROES MATCHES THEIR COURAGE!

Rather odd...that isnt an American soldier. It looks like an Israeli soldier. What's he doing in Iraq? I'd guess Checkoslovakia, but I can't spell it, so how about Italian.

These are among the best I have seen of our wonderful troops. How touching to see them in prayer, with the children, and petting the kitten. Prayers and love to each of them. If things aren't hard enough, they have to wonder if we are really supporting them since they only get CNN .

There should be five pictures in the original post. I just linked in Kirsten again in my #4, to kind of emphasize what I think is Kirsten.
Which of the five do you think is the Israeli soldier?

There are no words to describe the emotion I feel looking at those pictures.
Yes, I am safer than I was pre 9/11. These pictures prove it.

For Kirstin and all our troops there ....
Our hearts, thanks and prayers are with each and every one of you. Keep up the great work and KNOW there are so MANY of us here who well know all you are giving and what is in your hearts. Certain times can be rough, but they are well worth it. How you will feel inside the rest of your life will give you an inner satisfaction NONE of the naysayers will ever know. May GOD bless each and every one of you and safely bring you home to all of us.
