BLITZER: Under pressure from Republicans and the news media, John Kerry's campaign today said it's working to release the Democratic presidential candidate's Vietnam-era military records and put them on his campaign Web site.
Kerry's long public career has been linked to Vietnam since the very beginning. He first rose to public prominence as an opponent of the war.

I can understand that CNN has more (faux) credibility with the mushy middle. But, FOX is really asleep at the switch if they don't pick this up.
In trying to read the transcripts with half my I.Q. tied behind my back, I can see where CNN thinks they "neutralized" O'Neill by giving equal rebuttal time to a senior Kerry adviser after O'Neill's appearance. Even though Meehan replied with nothing but weasel words, and didn't even answer the questions Blitzer asked him, he gets high marks for giving good weasel. In all honesty, it reads to me as though it would fool those who aren't really paying attention.
The only way to avoid this is to have O'Neill on with Hume, Hannity, or some venue that will give him the time and respect he deserves.

I missed it..cuz I had to catch up on cooking dinner tonight..Had a minor health scare that ran me to the docs office. LOL I had a sprained ankle last week..and now my left one is swollen, stiff as well. Apparently, I sprained my left ankle trying to protect my right. This is a new one..2 sprained ankles at once. Only me!! Wow Kim. Sorry to hear about the ankles. I broke my right ankle (while training for the L.A. marathon) and got a cast. Then broke the left trying to avoid hurting the other. Very painful. Couldn't stand crutches so got two canes.

Hanoi John Effin Kerry should not be allowed within 1500 feet of the Whitehouse, under any circumstance. That Draft Dodging POS from Little Rock was BAD enough, but Kerry is even more contemptable.

. At the same time, the North Vietnamese military was torturing American prisoners of war to make them confess to identical crimes. At least one former POW has stated that Kerry's testimony was used by North Vietnam to demoralize American prisoners during interrogations. Makes you wonder why John McCain didn't throttle the son of a bitch the minute he walked into the Senate chamber the first time.

Thanks for the ping. :-)

People, not old enough, or not even born during this period of American history, have NO idea just how horrible a time it really was.

I haven't seen any news wire reports of this. If it is true, the WoT will effectively end if Kerry is elected. And the WoT battlefield will move from Afghanistan and Iraq to Omaha, Cleveland, Denver and other parts of the US.]

Tom, In the above you hae told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the tuth.
When this happens, will kerry retaliate?
You bet! He will declare war on legitmate gun owners and Christians.
I will close be saying this: Anyone who votes for john f. kery is a fool and they deserve everything he is going to do to them!

I'm wondering why he came out, as well.
This isn't the first time Kerry ran as President, and it also isn't like he "just won" the nomination.
Any chance this guy is connected to the Clintons?

No way. His father was an admiral (I think). He attacked Kerry way back on the Dick Cavett Show years ago.
He's had enough!

Hey, if 170 Freepers donate $10, or 85 Freepers donate $20, maybe we can get the book.
But I bet it's more cumbersome than that; O'Neill could probably afford the $1700.
To: Howlin
Aaaah, thanks for looking that up. :) I told a friend over dinner that I'd bet someone had posted Kerry's full service record by the time we got back home. LOL He just shook his head. Thinks I'm mighty "involved".

"He says he wouldn't use those words today, but he was young and he was passionate and he was anti- -- very anti-war. Can you forgive him for that? " In 1971, when John Kerry was lying before the world about what he saw in Vietnam...I was a young Medic...serving with 2nd Battalion of the 5th Cav. Regiment of the 1st Cav Division. I served with some of the best soldiers ever to wear the uniform.
We heard the words he said....the lies...and there can be NO forgiveness.
Ever.

"In fact, this administration--I was the one who pointed out they failed to use our forces effectively in Afghanistan. We had Osama bin Laden cornered in the mountains of Tora Bora. Rather than deploy the 10th Mountain Division or the 101st Airborne or the Marines, rather than use the best military in the world to go kill the world's number-one terrorist, what did we do? This administration held them back. They sent the Afghans up into the mountains who a week earlier had been on the other side, and they let him escape." So our commanders tried to be multilateral and, although it has not been proven, Osama may have gotten away.
Then he follows with:
I think that I can fight a far more effective war on terror. I will build alliances and cooperation.
So hence the first does not jive with the second which is John Kerry in a nutshell.

"He served two tours of duty, four months on the USS Gridley frigate off Vietnam's shore and nearly five months as a swiftboat commander in the Mekong Delta. He volunteered for the second tour and earned all his medals during the second stint."
The above quote isn't taken from the original article I saw but from this new AP story: Kerry campaign provides military records
