CENTCOM news release reported that anti-coalition forces fired on the crew of an M1-A1 tank from a building next to the mosque. The tank crew returned fire, destroying the building and killing an insurgent who was armed with a rocket- propelled grenade....
At the same time, CENTCOM reported, a nearby group of Marines came under sniper fire from the minaret of the mosque. They returned fire, and no further hostile fire came from the mosque..
....Marines operating near Ramadi raided a suspect building and recovered 40 82 mm mortars, one 100 mm round, one Russian-made sniper rifle and 500 7.62 mm rounds..
....soldiers from the Army's 1st Brigade Combat Team, assigned to the 1st Marine Division, captured four enemy fighters from two separate locations in coordinated raids near Ramadi. They recovered three AK-47 assault rifles, ammunition magazines, and improvised explosive device and mortar equipment.
....At a Baghdad news conference today, military spokesman Army Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt said that the coalition and Iraqi police are investigating the shooting deaths of two employees of the Al-Iraqiyah television network April 19 by U.S. soldiers in Samara. Another person was wounded, and a fourth, an Iraqi police officer, was unharmed, Kimmitt said.
Soldiers saw the individuals filming Iraqi Civil Defense Corps and Iraqi police checkpoints, a coalition base and routes to and from the locations, and fired warning shots, Kimmitt said. (note to enemy press, get permission to film in a war zone, and stop when warning shots are repeatedly fired...(or don't)).

Another good workday for our awesome warriors and allies across Iraq.
Bad news for the bad guys.

Firing from a mosque, eh? Before long, the insurgents will have to resort to surrounding themselves with women and children.

I think it is a big mistake to allow non-combatants back into Fallujah before the bad guys are wiped out.
But then again, I am probably ill-informed, thanks to the media coverage.

Sounds to me like justification to flatten a mosque in Fallujah. As long as these murderers know that we will respect their religious, education and healthcare facilities, they will keep this up.
Flatten it tonight!!

It occurs to me that if a republican were running for president by flaunting a war record identical to John Kerry, the press would be asking constantly why all these soldiers seeing months and months of combat can't request to leave and go stateside to a non-combat job in a general's office.
I'm not even saying that would be fair, just that you can guarantee it would be happening.

Thank you Rag. How are you my friend today?
Now to all of you, relax, our guys are in total control of situation in there. Do not dwell too much what media says, I dont know how many times I have to say this again. I know each and one of you would like to know exactly what is going on, but as of this moment some of us cannot release info to you, not because we don't want to, it is because of security of our guys. Many of you in military background understand what I mean.
But best thing we all can do now is pray. Be at peace all of you, everything will be fine.
God bless America

I was saddened to see no al-Jazeera or Reuters personnel were killed.
They are always so delighted to give publicity to terrorists and to gleefully overreport our troops' deaths.
Glad to see Mr. Abrams settling some scores.
Here's to peace with all the terrorists peacefully dead.
