Giago Drops Out Of Senate Race
The South Dakota Senate contest is back to a two-man race. After briefly pursuing running as an independent, the Washington Post is reporting Native American activist Tim Giago is dropping out of the race.
Giago is quoted as saying he will now throw his support behind democratic incumbent Senator Tom Daschle. After meeting with Daschle over the weekend, Giago said he felt confident the democrat would address native American issues.

This was predicted by Thune campaign all along. Hope someone can provide evidence that it was always a scam.

After meeting with Daschle over the weekend, Giago said he felt confident the democrat would address native American issues.Hmmmm....I wonder just what Little Tommy promised Giago for dropping out? We need to keep an eye out for any future legislation from Tommy specifically for American Indians. It just might be construed as a political payoff.

Daschle assured him that the native Americans who personally saw Lewis and Clark sail by up the Missouri 200 years ago this summer will continue to be allowed to exercise their voting franchise.
And that the trinkets offered by the expedition from the US Government will continue to flow their way...

After the last campaign- the price for "Buying" votes
just went up. Dashole has a real problem- he has screwed the
indians, screwed the people of S. Dak. and has gotten away
with it -(poor Repbulican-response,poor alternate candidates
etc.)this may be the year he gets dumped- the reservation votes
are going to be looked at much more closely-
Here is a prayer to all who live in South Dak.- hope rings
eternal in a free society- vote GOP.

Not totally unexpected, disappointing though nonetheless. Most of us ut here expected Daschle would either threaten or buy Giago out of the race. Daschle has a pretty scary political machine, that was inherited from Abourezk and McGovern, and he knows who has skeletons, and where people's vulnerabilities are.

It is a pity that South Dakotans tend to be non partisan. They are simply too damned nice. They like everybody, because most folks they know are likable, I suspect.
